Cherry announced two new wireless mechanical gaming keyboards that can reach up to 8000 Hz

At CES 2025 (Consumer Electronics Show), Cherry showcased their latest mechanical keyboards and related accessories. The main focus of these reveals were the new MX 8.3 TKL Wireless and MX 10.1 Wireless mechanical gaming keyboards, which CHERRY describes as “high-speed, advanced keyboards suitable for both professional gamers and enthusiasts.

Besides their dimensions and the inclusion of a full number pad in the larger XTRFY MX 10.1 TKL, the primary distinction between the two lies in their switch types and keycap materials. Specifically, the more compact MX 8.3 TKL features hot-swappable Cherry MX2A switches coupled with double-shot PBT keycaps, whereas the MX 10.1 Wireless comes equipped with MX low profile 2.0 switches and PBT keycaps.

In summary, the two wireless models provide three connectivity options – through a dongle, Bluetooth, or cable connection – and boast exceptionally swift response times with polling rates of up to 4000Hz in wireless mode and an impressive 8000 Hz when connected via a wire.

Furthermore, these gaming keyboards offer LCD screens and rotary dials that enable users to monitor typing speed, battery status, and other details. The Cherry XTRFY MX 8.3 TKL is priced at $299, whereas the XTRFY MX 10.1 TKL will be available for a slightly lower price of $279.

More peripherals from Cherry at CES 2025

For several decades, the Cherry Corporation has been producing top-tier computer peripherals. Although it’s widely recognized as a keyboard manufacturer, it also provides various other computer accessories in its product lineup.

At the recent CES event, I had the pleasure of witnessing Cherry unveil a fresh addition to their lineup: the H3 Wireless headset. Not only does this versatile piece connect via USB-A dongle or Bluetooth 5.1, but it’s compatible with an impressive array of devices – PCs, Macs, PS4 and PS5 consoles, Nintendo Switch systems, and even mobile devices.

According to the manufacturer’s specifications, the built-in battery on this wireless headset has a capacity of 2,000 mAh, promising a playtime of approximately 100 hours before needing recharge. The headset can be conveniently recharged using the provided USB-C to USB-A charging cable once it’s drained of power.

Additionally, Cherry unveiled multiple non-gaming office keyboards and related items such as the XTRFY GP6 and GP7 mousepads, the KW 300 MX hot-swap keyboard for offices, the wireless KW 550 MX LP keyboard, the wired KC 500 MX LP keyboard, and a compact TKL version of the KC 500 MX LP keyboard to cater to diverse computer users’ requirements.

As an analyst, I’d recommend checking out the specifications for each of these office keyboards I’ve listed, as they showcase their unique features and help you make an informed decision based on your preferences.

Customers can expect to acquire these gadgets throughout different seasons of the year. First off, the H3 Wireless Headset is expected to debut in the first quarter of 2025. The remaining lineup of computer accessories will be released during the second quarter.
