Nintendo Switch 2 Leak Reveals First Look at the New Dock

Although Nintendo hasn’t publicly announced the Nintendo Switch 2 yet, various leaked images of this upcoming console have surfaced online. Recent leaks include a sneak peek at an upgraded dock and images of the Joy-Cons and the system’s motherboard. The most recent leak comes from Laura Kate Dale, who has a track record of accurate leaks in the past, first revealing the game Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle for the original Switch. According to Laura, this trusted source provided her with the image. She also shared that the system will come with a 60w charger, and it seems that the current charger may not be compatible with powering the Nintendo Switch 2 when docked.

In a recent post on X/Twitter, Dale pointed out that the image seems to strengthen claims that the device will perform significantly better when docked compared to being handheld, as it uses additional power for AI-enhanced graphics upscaling. You can find images of the supposed dock in the embedded Bluesky post below.

I just got a fresh picture from a reliable contact showing what appears to be a Switch 2 Dock. The image reveals clear voltage details for both input and output. Other information on the photo is hidden.

Moreover, I’ve found out that the Switch 2 comes packaged with a 60W charger specifically designed for the dock.

Just as with other recent rumors, it’s wise to approach this one cautiously, considering it until Nintendo officially reveals details about its upcoming Switch model. However, many of these rumors appear credible, and given the possible release of the new Switch within the next six months or so, it wouldn’t be surprising if such leaks were surfacing online.

Although we’ve been able to view numerous pictures of the console, it’s important to mention that no details about software or a release schedule have been disclosed yet. We’ve picked up hints from external developers regarding their intentions for Nintendo’s upcoming system, and it’s confirmed that it will offer some level of compatibility with existing Switch games. T Z-A, being released on both systems, similar to how games like The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess were available on the GameCube and as a Wii launch title, or how Breath of the Wild was launched on the Wii U and later on the Switch.

It’s my hope that these leaks will persuade Nintendo to disclose the new system details more promptly. While we know a release is imminent anytime between now and March’s end, there’s been no definitive date announced yet; not even a confirmation if it will indeed be called “Switch 2.” Even with all these leaks, we still lack a comprehensive understanding of the system. Nintendo could clear up all this speculation by announcing more details soon, but they seem to be biding their time for now.
