Housemarque Recruits PlatinumGames Dev of 11 Years as Lead Designer on Next PS5 Game

Housemarque, the talented crew responsible for hits like Returnal and numerous arcade-style action games, has brought on board a former PlatinumGames developer in the role of lead designer.

Abebe Tinari has been working for approximately 11 years at the renowned Japanese game studio, best recognized for creating thrilling action games such as Bayonetta, Vanquish, and numerous other high-energy titles.

According to Tinari’s LinkedIn account, he has contributed as a designer in various games such as Granblue Fantasy: Relink, Bayonetta Origins: Cereza and the Lost Demon, and an upcoming project called Scalebound.

He also states that he has a speciality in “enemy and boss design”.

It appears they share a compatible style; Housemarque’s gaming approach resembles PlatinumGames’, focusing on swift, smooth action gameplay and leaning towards arcade-style entertainment.

At this moment, it’s unclear what the upcoming PlayStation 5 game from the Finnish team will be, but since they are seeking candidates with expertise in action game design, we can infer that their next project will likely involve action-based gameplay. At least, it appears they will stick to their area of expertise for now.

It’s been since Returnal was launched on PS5 in 2021; therefore, we might not have to wait too long more for updates regarding future projects from Housemarque.
