Pokemon Go Reveals January Community Day Classic Details

During the weekend, players of Pokemon Go got the chance to join an event focused on Sprigatito for the Community Day. And now, Niantic has shared some fresh details about the upcoming Community Day happening on January 25th (Saturday). This next Community Day Classic will bring Ralts back into focus, a development that’s likely exciting news for those who couldn’t take advantage of previous opportunities. A short video teaser was released for the event, but we still don’t know all the details. Assuming Niantic doesn’t have any major surprises planned, the event will probably run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., depending on your local time.

During Community Day events, players will often find a higher chance of encountering Shiny variants, such as Shiny Ralts. Compared to the standard version, Shiny Ralts sports a different color scheme: its green hair transforms into a lighter shade of blue, and its pink horns become orange. This same color scheme is found in Shiny Kirlia, Shiny Gardevoir, and Shiny Gallade, with all three having orange eyes instead of the regular pink. The differences are more pronounced when Shiny Gardevoir Mega Evolves, as its white dress changes to black.

For quite a while now, Mega Gardevoir has been playable in Pokemon Go, but starting this coming Saturday, January 11th, we’ll see the introduction of Mega Gallade. The Mega Raid Day event will run from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. in your local timezone. In line with other Mega Raid days, Niantic is boosting the cap on Remote Raids, allowing you to join up to 20. Players lucky enough to encounter one might find a Shiny Gallade during Mega Raids, though if not, saving up Gallade Mega Energy for after the upcoming Ralts Community Day Classic could prove beneficial. In fact, this event’s return could be due to Niantic planning the Ralts Community Day Classic!

When Shiny Gallade undergoes Mega Evolution, it retains its distinctive blue, white, and orange color scheme shared with other Shiny forms in the Ralts evolutionary line. It also incorporates some black, much like Shiny Gardevoir. But unlike Gardevoir’s dress-like design, Mega Gallade sports a cape-like feature. In contrast to the usual blue underside for regular Mega Gallade, the undersides of the cape’s halves are black for the Shiny version.

The upcoming Ralts event marks one of the penultimate Pokémon Go Community Days during the Dual Destiny season. Niantic has already published a schedule for the season, and the final event is set for February 9th, a Sunday. As of now, it’s unclear which Pokémon will be featured in the next event. We might find out after the Ralts Community Day Classic, but let’s hope Niantic ends this season with a bang!
