2025 has only just begun, but as a gaming enthusiast, I can confidently say that it’s shaping up to be anything but a quiet year. Despite the slow start, we have an impressive lineup of games scheduled for release by the end of December. These include “Monster Hunter Wilds,” “DOOM: The Dark Ages,” “Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” “Metroid Prime 4: Beyond,” “Ghost of Yotei,” and “Grand Theft Auto VI.” While many of these heavy-hitters are still a few weeks or months away, one highly anticipated release from the first part of the year is just around the corner – a revival of a beloved PlayStation Vita game.
On Friday, January 10th, the beloved Vita game “Freedom Wars” is set for a remastered release, making its way onto contemporary gaming platforms. First introduced in 2014, “Freedom Wars” was among the most acclaimed action titles on the Vita console. While it garnered much praise from fans, it has remained exclusive to the PS Vita and hasn’t been ported to any other systems until now. The wait is finally over!
One unique aspect of “Freedom Wars Remastered” is that it won’t be limited to PlayStation systems. Although Sony published the original version on PS Vita, Bandai Namco Entertainment now owns the rights to “Freedom Wars”. Consequently, this remaster will be available on Nintendo Switch, PC, alongside PS5 and PS4.
