Spencer Pratt and Heidi Montag have lost their home.
On January 7th, alumni from Hills found it possible to safely depart their Pacific Palisades district in Los Angeles due to the increasing danger of a wildfire nearby. Unfortunately, despite their efforts, their house was not able to withstand the fire’s destruction, as reported by the family.
Spencer posted a video on Snapchat January 7th, stating that he was witnessing our home burning down through the security cameras. In the video, he showed flames engulfing our deck and children’s room.
His sister Stephanie Pratt later confirmed the destruction.
As a deeply devoted sister, I’m utterly devastated for my beloved sibling Heidi, her children, and themselves. In a heartfelt post on Instagram Stories, I expressed my sorrow. Moreover, my heart goes out to our cherished friends and neighbors who, just like us today, have sadly lost their homes.
Stephanie shared, “I just talked to my father; he made an effort to protect my brother’s home, but the fierce winds were too much and he couldn’t prevent any damage.” She added, “My parents managed to evacuate safely and are now keeping a watchful eye on their house as the fire advances through their security cameras.
This morning, I was among the tens of thousands in southern California who received the grim order to leave our homes instantly, all due to a raging fire fueled by what authorities labeled “dangerous winds.” The towns of Topanga, Malibu, and Pacific Palisades, known for being home to numerous A-list celebrities, found themselves under imminent threat as the blaze’s footprint expanded to almost 3 square miles. I can hardly believe it – my heart goes out to everyone affected by this relentless inferno.
Stephanie remarked, “Our community is incredibly close-knit.” It’s hard for me to find the right words, given that so many of our friends have suddenly lost their homes today.
With the fire relentlessly advancing, Spencer – married to Heidi since 2008 and father to Gunner, 7, and Ryker, 2 – posted a video on his Instagram Story. The clip showcased towering clouds of smoke rising from the Santa Monica Mountains, along with an airplane that sprayed water onto the mountainside in an attempt to halt the progression of the wildfire.
According to images from TMZ, Spencer was seen standing near the couple’s residence, looking distraught as he snapped photographs of a distant wildfire.
Many locals trying to evacuate encountered obstacles on their escape paths because of heavy traffic and cars left behind amidst the confusion, even celebrities like Eugene Levy from Schitt’s Creek were not exempt.
In a January 7th interview with The Los Angeles Times, the 78-year-old described the smoke over Temescal Canyon as extremely dark and intense. Despite not seeing any flames, he noted that the smoke was unusually black.
Another nearby resident named Ellen Delosh-Bacher chose not to take her vehicle when police officers started urging motorists to avoid the heavy traffic by saying, “Officers are running along the street, shouting to those caught in the gridlock, ‘Quickly evacuate!’
Despite several structures, such as the Palisades Theatre, being engulfed in flames, the Getty Museum, situated in the Brentwood region of Los Angeles, east of the Pacific Palisades, expressed relief when it confirmed that its building remained unscathed by the fire.
On social media platform X, the Getty Villa announced that certain trees and vegetation within its premises have been affected by a fire. However, fortunately, no buildings are currently ablaze, and both staff members and the collection are secure.
