Danny Dyer has shared details about his upcoming movie venture, explaining that he aims to challenge himself emotionally due to the positive feedback he garnered from playing a role in “Rivals” on Disney Plus.
Dyer has mentioned that he alone will star in the unnamed movie at this point, with no additional information given yet about the production.
According to an article by The Sun, Dyer stated: “I can’t reveal many details about it. It’s a truly unusual idea. Since my portrayal in Rivals, I’ve been recognized as someone like Marlon Brando in the acting sphere, so now I’m attempting to challenge myself even more.
Even with my extensive experience in acting, this upcoming challenge will put me to the test significantly. For insurance purposes, I recently underwent an extremely thorough medical examination.
He continued: “I’m the only one in this film. It’s only one character. Just me.
I won’t delve deeply into the subject, but it shares some similarities with the movie ‘Phone Booth’ starring Colin Farrell. It’s quite an intriguing concept. Given that I was the sole actor, there were two doctors standing by at my entrance.
In the play Rivals, Dyer’s portrayal of Freddie Jones received accolades. However, he mentioned that many of the compliments on his acting were “veiled criticisms” or indirectly critical.
He mentioned that some individuals seemed to imply that, in a sense, I was the one who emerged as particularly skilled, almost remarking, “Wow, he’s such a great actor.
It seems like some major newspapers are subtly implying skepticism towards me, with phrases like ‘Oh no.’ Interestingly, one headline read: ‘The most surprising revelation about Rivals is that Danny Dyer can act.’
“In a way, I’m going, ‘Oh, thanks for the compliment,’ at the same time going, ‘Well, f**k off!’”
