Announced as early as September 2022, the PS Stars program represents an enhanced version of Sony’s PlayStation rewards system, boasting some additional features.

Currently, the service is yet to be included directly on the PS5 console, contrary to initial expectations that it would be integrated. Star, launched shortly after its unveiling in October 2022, has been operational for some time now. However, it’s accurate to say that the service hasn’t progressed as significantly as many anticipated.

2024 saw quite a few major headlines regarding PlayStation Stars, largely because it faced numerous technical problems that led to multiple shutdowns. Moreover, there was a heated debate when the rewards for using PS Store credits were temporarily suspended late in the year.
