According to recent findings from Marvel Rivals, it’s highly recommended to include Mantis in your team setup due to her impressive win record in both Quick Play and Competitive modes, outperforming other characters on both consoles and PC platforms.
The latest ‘Hero Hot List’ from The Rivals provides the official win rates and pick rates for every character in the Marvel Rival series, offering detailed breakdowns by platform, game mode, and even by rank within the Marvel Rivals competition.
Positioned at the top tier of our Marvel Rivals rankings, Mantis stands out as an exceptionally efficient Strategist due to her abilities that boost healing and deal additional damage, making her a prime choice for selection in gameplay.
If you’re planning to begin your journey with Season 1 of Marvel Rivals using a fresh main character, let me introduce you to some top-performing heroes that have been making waves!
Marvel Rivals win rates show the best-performing heroes in each role
In Quick Play and Competitive modes, the character Mantis emerges victorious more often than other popular choices like Hela and Doctor Strange, boasting a win rate of approximately 56% and 55.2/55.4% (PC/Console), respectively. Consequently, Mantis takes the top spot as the most effective character in Marvel Rivals.
In the meantime, Peni Parker boasts an impressive victory percentage as a Vanguard, standing at 55.38% in Quick Play mode and 53.05% to 53.45% in Competitive play.
Hela consistently ranks high among Duelists’ favorites, boasting a win rate of 52.86% in Quick Play and 54.24/53.47% in Competitive play. Interestingly, she encounters tough competition from Magik for this position, which might come as a surprise to some players.
In the standings at the opposite end, it’s Black Widow and Jeff the Land Shark who find themselves at the bottom with relatively low win rates. Specifically, they have a Quick Play win rate of 44.15% for Black Widow and 45.39% for Jeff the Land Shark.
Jeff the Land Shark is the most used character in Marvel Rivals
Regardless of having a lower than average win percentage, participants in Marvel Rivals continue to favor selecting “Jeff the Land Shark” as their preferred Strategist for Quick Play matches, with a selection frequency of approximately 21.18%.
As a follower, I can’t help but believe that Jeff’s famous viral Ultimate move might have inspired some novice gamers to try recreating those viral clips where he devours entire teams on the map while munching on food. It’s fascinating!
In competitive play, it’s the pairing of Cloak and Dagger who stand out as strategic leaders, boasting a 20.58% and 26.04% selection frequency, respectively.
It’s logical that the healers have such high selection rates because there are significantly fewer strategists (only seven) compared to duelists (eighteen), not counting Sue Storm and Mister Fantastic, who are yet to be released.
In Season 1, it’s unusual to see characters like Storm, Namor, and Black Widow being picked as they are seldom chosen, with a frequency below 3% for each character.
The win percentages and selection frequencies provide us with valuable clues about the data possibly incorporated in the recent Marvel Rivals update, where Mantis and Hela were weakened (nerfed), while Black Widow and Storm were significantly strengthened (buffed).
