One actor who lends his voice to Disney’s Mickey Mouse expresses his aspiration to embody the infamous Marvel villain, Norman Osborn (also known as the Green Goblin). Although Willem Dafoe has previously portrayed this Spider-Man adversary in live-action, another opportunity to play Norman Osborn arose but has since been claimed. Christopher Diamantopoulos, who voices Mickey Mouse in “The Wonderful World of Mickey Mouse” and is also part of the cast on Amazon’s “Invincible”, has shared his ideas for bringing the Green Goblin to life, despite someone else voicing Norman Osborn in the upcoming “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man”.
Chris Diamantopoulos recently chatted with The Direct about his upcoming series, “The Sticky.” During their conversation, he expressed his eagerness to portray the character of Norman Osborn. He’s even thought up a name for the potential project – “Goblin” – which could depict the transformation of Norman into the Green Goblin, known for carrying pumpkin bombs.
Diamantopoulos expressed confidence in his fit within the Marvel Cinematic Universe, stating, “Absolutely, I do believe so! One of my earliest memories is going to Silver Snail comic shop. It’s been a part of my life since I was very young. I’ve been a Marvel comics fan for as long as I can remember and passed that love onto my son, who’s an avid collector, especially from the 80s and 90s era.
He stated, “However, I believe it would be fascinating if a series titled ‘Goblin‘ were created, focusing on Norman Osborn’s journey leading up to his transformation into the Green Goblin. And ideally, I would play the role of Norman Osborn.
Colman Domingo voices Norman Osborn in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
Actor Colman Domingo (known for Fear the Walking Dead and Candyman) provides the voice of Norman Osborn in the Disney+ animated series Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man. This series follows the early adventures of Tom Holland’s Peter Parker after he acquires his Spider-Man powers, with Hudson Thames voicing the character instead of Holland. Alongside Peter Parker, characters such as Aunt Man, Otto Octavius, Nico Minoru, Harry Osborn, and others will appear in Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man.
The initial trailer for “Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” was unveiled towards the end of December, providing fans with a glimpse into what they can anticipate from the series. Apart from Thames and Domingo, the ensemble also features Eugene Byrd, Grace Song, Zeno Robinson, Hugh Dancy, and Charlie Cox. Jeff Trammell is in charge as the show’s head writer, while Mel Zwyer takes on the role of supervising director.
Colman Domingo talking to Marvel Studios about a secret role
In a recent chat, Colman Domingo disclosed that he’s in discussions with Marvel Studios, but he’s tight-lipped about potential roles. Many enthusiasts are crossing their fingers, hoping that he might step into the role previously held by Jonathan Majors as Kang the Conqueror, following his dismissal from Marvel Studios after being convicted of assault and harassment charges.
Domingo shared with Screen Geek that he’s had a meeting with Marvel, but there wasn’t any specific topic discussed. Instead, they asked him about his ideas, and he inquired about potential roles for himself. He’s open to joining the MCU, but only if it’s under the right circumstances. He wants a role that allows him to contribute something personal, and he’s still figuring out what that might be. So, we’re having ongoing discussions, and we’ll see where it leads. As of now, he doesn’t know exactly what his future role would be, but he’s willing to wait and find out.
