It appears that Marvel Rivals has attracted a significant number of gamers within the live service genre, and Chinese developer NetEase recently disclosed an astounding figure of revenue generated during the game’s initial month: approximately $136 million, with around $36 million coming from China specifically. (Estimates suggest this figure.)
According to GameWorldObserver, GameLook has calculated a total sum (thank you), with approximately $54.7 million coming from Steam, $27.2 million from PlayStation, and only $2.7 million from Xbox. Keep in mind that Season 1 doesn’t begin until January 10th, making these early earnings particularly noteworthy. GameLook predicts that Marvel Rivals might generate an annual revenue of around $1.36 billion in the upcoming year based on this data.
Last month, I was part of a massive gaming community that swelled up to 480,000 players – and guess what? Rivals just won’t let go! To put it into perspective, we’re talking an incredible player retention rate of 93%. That means over nine out of ten players are sticking around, which is simply unheard-of in this industry where a 50% retention rate is considered pretty solid. I can’t get enough of this game!
