Kelly Clarkson is keeping it in the family.
On the 8th of January, I graced the stage of my show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, and invited my wonderful children River, aged 10, and Remy, aged 8 – who I share with my former partner Brandon Blackstock – to join me for a delightful day of fun-filled activities.
During his previous appearance on their mother’s program, Remy and his sister found a moment to chat about his charming viral incident – specifically when he serenaded Frank Sinatra’s “My Way,” which left the audience in awe and standing with applause.
In the studio, as River donned a blue Peter Pan collar blouse and Remy wore a green pinstripe jacket, the trio sat together on the couch for an interview. Kelly, noticing their stylish attire, reminisced about a past event with her son.
Kelly asked you how you reacted when that video of yours went viral, right?” she said in the video posted on social media on January 9th. “Don’t you remember our conversation? You seemed really excited and exclaimed, ‘Everybody’s loving my video!’
To which Remy cheekily responded, “Yeah, how many views did I get again?”
The swiftness of his humor made Kelly slightly recline in her seat with a playful gesture, while the crowd burst into hearty laughter.
Indeed, River demonstrated her role as a wonderful older sister perfectly. When Kelly mentioned that she frequently hears “My Way” played at home by River, the 10-year-old jokingly replied, “I can’t keep track—it must be played countless times.
Also, it’s worth noting that although River hasn’t given a concert for Kelly’s followers yet, she mentioned that she inherited her mother’s talent for music.
As a connoisseur of life’s finer aspects, I find great joy in expressing myself through the art of writing and singing. Often, these two passions intertwine in a personal journal that serves as an outlet for my thoughts and emotions. Regrettably, on this particular occasion, I left it behind at home – a habitual oversight that seems to run in my family.
Still, River emphasized that she loves writing music.
She went on saying, “I often spend a considerable amount of time in my room, and much of it is dedicated to practicing songs by singing for extended periods.
As a devoted admirer, I can’t help but share my excitement about River’s upcoming performances. When they take the stage, the audience is bound to be left breathless, and let me tell you, their music is nothing short of outstanding!
As a devoted follower, I must say that while it’s always exciting to see Kelly’s children on her show, she has made it clear in the past that spending quality time with her family away from the cameras holds the utmost importance for her at 42 years old.
Kelly shared during her November interview on KOST 103.5 that she’s finding it hard to believe how quickly her children are growing up, and the time seems to be passing by swiftly. She cherishes spending time with her little ones, who never fail to make her laugh with their humor and keep her entertained. However, as they become more independent, she knows that one day they might not want her around as much because they’re her kids, and she’s okay with that, but she wants to enjoy their company for as long as possible.
