Sebastian Harrison Nearly Forced to Jump in Ocean to Escape Fires

Sebastian Harrison recounted his harrowing experience of fleeing his Malibu residence during the Los Angeles wildfires in videos posted on his social media accounts. In these videos, the 59-year-old could be seen among the flames as he strived to protect both his home and that of his elderly father (age 89), while providing updates about the situation.

In the video, he stated, “I’m taking cover here among these stones as the fire rages nearby. Sparks are flying, forcing me to seek safety behind these boulders. If the situation demands it, I’m prepared to plunge into the sea.

Later on, the star of “Love Me Licia” shared his harrowing experiences and clarified his decision to stay put during the evacuation orders. Instead of leaving, he was busy at his home, moving patio furniture and watering the roof, in an effort to slow down the rapid spread of fires.

He shared with CNN on January 9, during a joint interview with his wife Livia Pillman, that he noticed a wall of fire. He decided to leave but crossed the street instead. His backup plan was to check if the fire would spread onto the property. He added that there might be some buildings that could withstand the flames.

Yet, Sebastian mentioned that neither house seemed to have a chance, as the situation turned critical when he saw the firefighters departing from the location.

Initially, as I watched the fire trucks rush off, a sense of unease washed over me. When I attempted to start my car, it failed to respond, leaving me stranded. Moments later, I witnessed a swarm of embers heading straight towards me, and in that instant, I felt certain I was facing disaster.

He began walking towards the ocean, surrounded by large rocks, and then stated. Unfortunately, due to the presence of embers, smoke, and airborne debris, he couldn’t see properly. As a result, he tripped and sustained minor injuries. However, he eventually found safety behind some of the boulders.

At approximately 9 pm on January 7th, Sebastian successfully exited his home, thanks to the assistance of firefighters. Unfortunately, the house he bought in 2010 was completely consumed by fire and valued at $2.4 million.

Sebastian is one of numerous Los Angeles inhabitants whose homes were destroyed by the fires that ignited on January 7 and have scorched more than 20,000 acres, causing the deaths of at least 10 individuals.
