It’s not expected that upcoming Square Enix releases will exclusively appear on a single platform. In fact, it seems many recent prominent games are preparing for multiplatform debuts. For instance, titles like Final Fantasy 7 Remake and its sequel Rebirth, which are now only available on PlayStation (and the former also on PC), may soon become accessible on other platforms as well.
In a fresh podcast broadcast, prominent leaker NateTheHate asserted that both the upcoming installments of “Final Fantasy 7 Remake”, namely the original remake and its sequel “Rebirth”, are now officially being developed for not only Xbox Series X/S, but also the yet-to-be-released Nintendo Switch 2. According to this source, it’s expected that we’ll see the release of “Remake” on both platforms sometime in this current year, while fans can expect “Rebirth” to be released around the year 2026.
Is there a possibility that the final installment in the remake trilogy will be available across multiple platforms when it’s released, unlike its predecessor? That appears to be the speculation, although nothing is confirmed yet.
In the meantime, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is due out for PC on January 23.
