Katie Maloney is in mourning.
The Vanderpump Rules alum shared that her dad Richard Maloney died on Jan. 5.
She expressed on Instagram, January 10th, that although grief has impacted her own life and the lives of those dear to her, she hasn’t grown accustomed to it or developed a sense of familiarity with it.
After concluding her divorce with co-star Tom Schwartz in 2022, Maloney opened up about how she was dealing with the news.
She went on to say, “I’ve encountered a mix of feelings – numbness, tranquility, deep sorrow, and at times, remorse.” She added, “My father was dearly loved by many, he possessed a charisma that made everyone feel at home and relaxed. We both shared a fondness for corny dad jokes, and he never seemed to run out of them.
In a heartfelt eulogy, Maloney highlighted the constant support her father showed towards her pursuits, followed by recounting some cherished moments she shared with him.
The 37-year-old penned, “I can’t help but associate Irish Spring with him, as if its aroma overpowered the smell of his work’s wheel grease. This scent evokes a deeply ingrained memory that I value more than ever before.
She concluded her post, featuring a picture of the two of them playing in the snow, with this message: “Dad, I adore you for eternity, thank you for the countless laughs, our lifelong father-daughter dances, and the love you’ve shown us. With affection, your little girl.
His cause of death has not been revealed.
