Death Stranding 2 PS5 Enters Crunch Period, Hideo Kojima Questions How Much Longer He Can Do It For

Game developers refer to the crunch phase as they approach completion of a project. However, despite there being plenty left to accomplish, many team members find themselves working significantly longer hours than normal, which could potentially lead to burnout. As Kojima further clarifies, this demanding period takes both a physical and mental toll on those involved.

Later on, Kojima wonders how much longer he can continue being creative in the gaming world. He expressed that he hopes to carry on for the rest of his days, but is unsure if it will be another 10 years, or perhaps even 20. Every day, he feels as though he’s in a race against time. Earlier today, Kojima shared on Twitter that he’s rewatching Blade Runner to revitalize his spirit.

At the age of 61, Hideo Kojima boasts a highly esteemed career in the gaming industry that spans over three decades. His debut game, titled “Penguin Adventure“, was launched in 1986, followed by nearly three decades with Konami during which he crafted Metal Gear Solid. Currently running his own studio, Kojima Productions, this industry pioneer is still working on several new projects, with OD alongside Microsoft and Physint with Sony being the most notable among them.
