From the beginning, there was suspicion that you might be a Traitor, partly due to your profession as a physician. Ever think about fabricating the truth about your occupation?

Instead, I pondered over switching to another medical career, but on a moral level, it didn’t feel appropriate. If I had to put it into words, I could have claimed to be a full-time parent or similar.

How did it feel being wrongly accused?

At one point, it seemed a little unfair since I was left out and quite lonely, which was unfortunate given my desire to participate in the game. However, over the course of my career, I’ve learned how to handle tough situations and realize that sometimes people can be unkind. It’s crucial to stay grounded, remain a good person, and appreciate each experience life offers. I refused to compromise on maintaining my positive outlook.

Did you take any of it personally?

Instead of saying “No, it was just people struggling to adapt to the game’s situation – and it’s a challenging game to play,” you could rephrase it as “Actually, people are finding it tough to cope with the game’s circumstances, given its complexity.”

Regarding the second sentence, instead of stating “It tends to be more other people’s insecurities that are coming out in how they present themselves,” you might say “Often, individuals seem to reveal their insecurities while interacting within this demanding context.”

For the third sentence, rather than using “And the round tables are very long, because there’s lots to unpack – the round table where I made the Harold Shipman comment lasted for two hours!”, you could rephrase it as “The discussions at these roundtables are extensive due to the numerous topics that need examination, as evidenced by my two-hour dialogue about Harold Shipman.

Did you enjoy briefly making the Faithful believe you were a Traitor in your leaving speech?

In the circular table, I found myself believing that today was likely going to be the day I’d make an appearance. I had a sense I would feign treachery, but I desperately needed that perfect quip. When my gaze fell upon Joe, he was the one who noticed a sparkle in my eyes – a remarkably foolish accusation. Primarily for amusement, I went along with it, but later I couldn’t help but think, “What a clever act of retribution that turned out to be!
