EastEnders airs crucial Cindy Beale attack clue in early iPlayer release

On EastEnders, the enigma surrounding who struck Cindy Beale (portrayed by Michelle Collins) with a shovel has become even more intriguing as everyone scurries to unravel the puzzle.

Among the suspects, Lauren Branning, played by Jacqueline Jossa, seems to be experiencing a great deal of distress regarding the situation.

She was too drugged up to recall truthfully if she hit Cind, due to being under the influence of prescription medication at the time.

One particular memory disturbed her when she thought back, a Christmas gift scarf she owned that had been stained with blood. That scarf was with Lauren on the fateful night.

Under the burden of her hidden truth, she attempted to obtain morphine from Ravi (Aaron Thiara), yet he refused her request.

Unfortunately, Peter saw everything and it was time to come clean to him.

“It’s proof I attacked your mum.”

Peter emphasized that the image wasn’t significant, stating, ‘I’ve been friends with you since we were children. There isn’t an ounce of violence in your nature.’

Lauren snapped back: “I ran over my own dad. Sober.” She has a point.

She detailed her plan to admit her actions to the authorities, yet Peter firmly insisted that she shouldn’t, aiming to shield their family from potential consequences.

After it appeared the crisis had passed, Peter was observed burning the scarf outside their residence at a later time.

Was it Lauren who had the scarf after all? Or was it in fact Peter?
