Fortunately, you no longer have to dig out your old PS3 to enjoy this classic RPG, as Bandai Namco has updated and optimized it for current-generation consoles under the title Tales of Graces f Remastered.

In a remastered version, you’ll find not only enhanced graphics but also several user-friendly and accessibility upgrades. These range from the option to toggle between English and Japanese voiceovers, to a quicker running pace, automatic saves, and more.

At the start of the game, you’ll have the opportunity to access the Grade Store; a feature often saved for New Game Plus in Tales games. Here, you can choose to boost your gameplay, such as increasing the EXP earned from battles by five times. This is perfect for those interested solely in the storyline, while those seeking an authentic gaming experience can simply overlook it.

This vibrant RPG’s narrative takes a while to fully unfold. Initially, a lengthy prologue chapter introduces the young protagonist Asbel, son of a local lord, who often finds trouble in his hometown. Along the way, you’ll meet his friends and assist a girl with amnesia. After seven years have passed, the characters, once adorable children, are now grown adults. Life events have torn them apart, setting the stage for an adventure that starts out somewhat stereotypical but becomes more captivating as it progresses. The journey is made more enjoyable by its lovable group of adventurers.

One of the reasons Graces Tales game is so endearing is its engaging battle system, which unfolds in real-time. You have the freedom to use your skills as much as you have enough energy (referred to as chain capacity). It’s incredibly enjoyable to synchronize your attacks with your AI-controlled teammates to maintain the combo meter and strategically exploit enemies’ vulnerabilities to deal maximum damage.
