In the annals of anime, some truly unusual collaborations have been forged in the realm of merchandising. For instance, the “Mobile Suit: Gundam” franchise has ventured into designing lingerie, “Mob Psycho 100” has released its own line of scents, and “Pokemon” is now associated with a coffee line. Joining the ranks of these odd merchandising ventures, the creator of “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure” is contributing to a beer line that underscores Hirohiko Araki’s status as one of the most talented artists in the anime world. Interestingly enough, this particular brew has links to anime beyond the Joestars when delving into Sapporo’s history.
If you’re unfamiliar, Sapporo beer boasts a rich history in Japan, dating back to 1876 when it was first established. Over the past 145 years, this brewery has been crafting alcoholic beverages from the Far East, satisfying drinkers worldwide. Notably, Sapporo has collaborated with several well-known anime franchises in the past. It’s no secret that Sapporo was a favorite of Misato Katsuragi in Neon Genesis Evangelion, given its frequent appearances after her work hours. Additionally, before entering the arena of the Joestars, Sapporo partnered with anime series such as Golden Kamuy and Attack on Titan, demonstrating its commitment to the anime industry.
JoJo’s Beer Adventure
Presently, Hirohiko Araki, the creator of JoJo, is diligently engaged in his latest manga storyline, The JOJOLands, yet this commitment doesn’t hinder him from embarking on an exciting joint project. Collaborating with Sapporo, Araki has crafted exclusive artwork that will adorn cans of “Premium Yebisu” starting February 12th of next month. You can preview the initial images of this partnership in the following content.

Starting on February 12th, Sapporo Beer Limited is launching a special edition of Yebisu Beer Cans, adorned with original artwork by renowned manga artist Hirohiko Araki. These cans will be available across the country, themed around the idea “Fun leads to change in the world.” The collaboration aims to inspire positive emotions through beer, a product that has been associated with Hirohiko Araki for over 40 years and has captivated readers not just in Japan but globally. The packaging showcases a contemporary interpretation of the iconic Yebisu Beer posters from the Meiji era, updated by Hirohiko Araki himself.
JoJo’s Bizarre Future
Presently, Hirohiko Araki is penning the tale of Jodio and Dragona Joestar in Hawaii. If you’re eagerly anticipating this storyline to be animated, it may take a while. Assuming David Productions adheres to its source material, the subsequent phase of the TV series will likely be Steel Ball Run, followed by JoJolion. As for when we might see another season of JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, no specific date has been announced yet. However, there have been whispers that Johnny Joestar’s story might soon appear on television screens.
