For devoted Power Rangers enthusiasts, June 30th, 1995 holds a cherished spot in memory, marking the day Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie graced the silver screen and took the franchise to new heights. Since then, it’s been a beloved classic, and recently, Power Rangers artist Carlos Dattoli has given this film a fresh, contemporary makeover that every fan should behold. As an ardent MMPR admirer himself, Dattoli felt compelled to revamp the Power Rangers movie suits, but instead of stopping at just suits, he rolled out stylish new designs for all the Zords and even the film’s antagonists. The updated movie poster looks fantastic, and you can take a peek below, but Dattoli had one more surprise in store: a special edition poster tailored for Green Ranger devotees.
In this revamped poster design, you’ll find an ensemble cast of Rangers – the White Ranger taking center stage alongside the Black Ranger, Red Ranger, Pink Ranger, Blue Ranger, and Yellow Ranger. Beneath their portraits are depicted the Rangers’ Zords, including a cutting-edge Tigerzord model. At the top, you’ll find fresh interpretations of Ivan Ooze, Rita Repulsa, and Goldar.
In this revised portrayal, Dattoli replaces the White Ranger character with a sleek updated Green Ranger instead, placing him prominently in the foreground. Consequently, Tommy (the original White Ranger) requires his faithful Zord to be part of the action as well, which is why you’ll notice that the Dragonzord has been added among the other Zords at the bottom of the poster. Here’s a look at the revised poster below for your viewing pleasure.
On Instagram, Dattoli posted his original artwork with the caption: “Hey everyone! You know I’m a big fan of MMPR! For quite some time now, I’ve been itching to redesign the Power Rangers’ suits. However, I wanted something more comprehensive than just the suits themselves. So, I created this ‘fan movie poster,’ incorporating popular elements such as the Zords and villains. I drew inspiration from the iconic 90s movie posters, updating them for modern times, or how I envision a new adaptation might look. I’ve kept the characters’ essence intact – what initially captivated me about them – but with a more mature twist. I hope you enjoy it as much as I did creating it! Go Go Power Rangers! I’ll be posting individual suit shots later on.
In the modified rendition, Dattoli inserted the title, “Check this out! A Different Take on the Poster showcasing the beloved Green Ranger and his mighty Dragonzord! Enjoy!
Viewers can stream the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers movie, plus the concluding seasons of Dino Fury and Cosmic Fury eras, on Netflix. Additionally, don’t forget to check out the 30th Anniversary Special Once & Always. However, it’s important to note that what you won’t find on Netflix is the new universe that was under development, which included a linked TV series and movie. Unfortunately, that project’s development was halted last year.
It seems that there’s been some acceleration in the development of a fresh Power Rangers project, as per current updates. This could potentially mean another cinematic outing for the series, marking the first such occurrence since the 2017 reboot film.
I’d love to hear your thoughts about the new take on Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: The Movie! Let’s discuss everything Power Rangers over at Bluesky under the username KnightofOA.
