Who is Fury?

Fury, real name Jodie Ounsley, is a former professional Exeter Chiefs rugby player.
In her athletic journey, Ounsley has achieved remarkable success. She’s garnered titles as a former player of the England Women’s Rugby Sevens, a British Champion in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, and has been crowned the World Coal Carrying champion no less, five times.
In addition, she was crowned Deaf Sportsperson of the Year in 2020, and serves as a representative for The Elizabeth Foundation, a charitable organization that offers specialized preschool care for hearing-impaired kids.
Outside the scope of the TV series, Fury conducts a podcast titled “Stronger Than You Think,” alongside host Ashleigh Wilmot. This podcast focuses on showcasing remarkable sports careers and significant milestones achieved by women in the sports world.
Later on this year, she’ll be publishing her debut book, “Keep Smashing It”, which is a fantastic self-help resource for anyone seeking a little inspiration.
Who is Fury’s dad?

As a dedicated cinephile, I found myself drawn to participate in the show, reminiscing about my father’s captivating stint on it back in 2008 – none other than Phil Ounsley, my dad, who graced the original series as a contestant.
She explained her desire to be a Gladiator before the reboot, saying, “The main motivation stems from the fact that my father competed in an earlier version of the show. So, Gladiators have always held a significant place in our family’s life ever since I was a child.
As a passionate spectator, I found myself utterly captivated by the raw physicality of the Gladiators. Yet, what truly made my experience extraordinary was witnessing my father navigate through the same process. His journey has undeniably left an indelible impact on me. It’s nothing short of amazing to find myself following in his footsteps, making it all the more cool and rewarding!
Philip was once a skilled mixed martial arts athlete professionally, and he currently serves as an advocate for The Elizabeth Foundation, a preschool dedicated to assisting hearing-impaired youngsters.
