Ever since Alucard debuted in “Castlevania 3: Dracula’s Curse” for the Nintendo Entertainment System, he has played a crucial role in the Castlevania series. In the first season of its sequel series on Netflix, “Castlevania: Nocturne,” Alucard largely stayed out of Richter Belmont’s initial anime adventure. However, at the climax of the first season finale, Alucard made a dramatic entrance by saving Richter and his companions in their most desperate moment and defeating one of the season’s fearsome night creatures simultaneously. In the second season, more information about Alucard’s past has been uncovered.

View Urgent ForecastHeed this notice: If you haven’t watched the second season of Castlevania: Nocturne yet, beware as we delve into spoiler discussions. Despite Alucard successfully staking his father in the initial series, his vampire-slaying journey was far from complete. The opening episode of the second season reveals that Alucard is pursuing a completely new type of vampire. It appears that he’s making his way towards Egypt to prevent the resurrection of a vampire deity, one that could potentially outmatch Dracula’s power.
Sekhmet Rises
Entering the second season of “Castlevania: Nocturne”, Erzsebet Bathory, the primary antagonist thus far, has amassed sufficient power to be crowned the “Vampire Messiah”. Convinced that she is a reborn manifestation of the Egyptian Vampire deity Sekhmet, Alucard’s mission is to prevent this goddess from wreaking havoc on the world. In the premiere of season two, we witness Alucard battling various Egyptian night creatures in an attempt to halt Sekhmet’s resurrection; however, it appears that his efforts come too late.
Fortunately, despite Alucard failing to prevent Bathroy’s rise to power, Alucard has decided to join forces with the current Belmont descendant. Though Alucard is considerably older than when first introduced in the original animated series, he remains as formidable and skilled as ever. Here’s hoping that this second season of Nocturne won’t be the end of Castlevania on Netflix; however, whether or not there will be more seasons is yet to be determined.
Will Castlevania: Nocturne Continue?
Currently, Netflix hasn’t shared any details about the future of the Castlevania series. Studio Powerhouse is hoping that Nocturne might get a third season, or alternatively, Castlevania could embark on a fresh storyline. Given the abundance of video game installments that can sustain the anime for years, fans worldwide are eagerly waiting to see if Netflix continues to follow the Belmont Clan’s vampire-hunting adventures.
