The popular theme park, SeaWorld Orlando, is set for an appetizing enhancement with the imminent opening of Chick-fil-A within its premises.
Starting this summer, guests at the marine-themed amusement park can enjoy the popular fast-food chain’s offerings of chicken sandwiches, nuggets, and waffle fries. The new eatery will be located near the Manta attraction and Seaport Theater, replacing the old Captain Pete’s Island Hot Dogs stand. Situated centrally in the park, this new restaurant aims to provide convenience and a menu that appeals to all visitors. This addition is part of SeaWorld’s continuous efforts to modernize its image and attract a more diverse audience.
The Chick-fil-A opening at SeaWorld Orlando is projected to follow the same pattern as the one in Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, serving beloved dishes such as chicken sandwiches, nuggets, waffle fries, and an assortment of sweet treats like cookies, brownies, and frozen drinks including frosted lemonade and milkshakes for lunch and dinner.
The restaurant will operate from Monday to Saturday, following Chick-fil-A’s longstanding practice of being closed on Sundays. Furthermore, there’s speculation that the Chick-fil-A at SeaWorld might offer the All-Day Dining Plan, enabling visitors to claim meals at this location approximately every 90 minutes, just like they can at Busch Gardens.
Since the release of the documentary “Blackfish” in 2013, SeaWorld has encountered numerous difficulties, many of which have been triggered by public criticism over its treatment of killer whales. The film accused SeaWorld of unethical practices in the breeding and training of these orcas, leading to a significant drop in attendance and widespread protests. As a result, the company was forced to make substantial changes, such as halting its orca breeding program in 2016 and gradually phasing out theatrical killer whale performances once the current group of orcas has passed away.
In spite of the alterations it’s made, SeaWorld is finding it challenging to fully restore its standing and boost visitor numbers back to where they were before the release of Blackfish.
To expand its range of attractions, SeaWorld has been progressively collaborating with external intellectual properties. One of the most prominent collaborations is with Sesame Street, which boasts a separate zone within the park devoted entirely to it.
At SeaWorld Orlando, the Sesame Street zone offers exciting, age-appropriate rides, opportunities to interact with beloved characters, and themed activities that offer both entertainment and learning for families. This zone has proven popular among young visitors and their parents, enriching SeaWorld’s collection of attractions.
Currently, the inclusion of Chick-fil-A represents another strategic step aimed at attracting a broader audience. This well-known eatery is synonymous with quality food and outstanding service, boasting a dedicated fanbase. By featuring Chick-fil-A in SeaWorld, it’s hoped that guests seeking a reliable dining option during their visit will be drawn to the park.
As SeaWorld faces ongoing challenges in public opinion, alliances with popular brands such as Sesame Street and Chick-fil-A might guide the park through calmer waters. However, it’s uncertain if this approach will successfully counterbalance decades of dwindling positive sentiment.
