In the latest ITV series, Out There, Martin Clunes takes on a character that is a stark contrast to his stern doctor persona in Doc Martin.
In the latest series, Clunes portrays a farmer who is defending his son and their property against encroachment by county lines drug dealers. However, he clarified that this role deviation from his usual character, such as the one he played in Doc Martin, was not intentional.
He said: “Not really, just the next thing, you know. I’ve never had a plan, really.
While I’ve often worked on projects other than Doc Martin, such as documentaries and dramas, many of which were penned by Ed, I don’t believe this was a deliberate choice. It seems more like a natural progression rather than a conscious decision.
