President Joe Biden and Dr. Jill Biden are holding onto the memories.
On the eve of Donald Trump’s inauguration as president on January 20th, the first couple snapped a selfie outside of the White House to mark the final day of the Biden Administration’s tenure.
Alongside a selfie of Joe and herself, Jill wrote in a Jan. 20 Instagram post, “one final photo.”
Later on, I too decided to share the same image across my official social media platforms as President Biden did, accompanied by the words, “America, we’ve got your back.
The photo was taken mere hours before Trump’s second inauguration, where he and his vice president, J.D. Vance, were set to take the presidential oath at the Rotunda of the United States Capitol – a place where Ronald Reagan was sworn in during 1985 due to bad weather, just like Trump.
Apart from President Biden, his spouse, Vice President Kamala Harris, her husband Doug Emhoff, along with former presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, and Bill Clinton, are all expected to show up.
Notable figures such as Mark Zuckerberg (Meta), Jeff Bezos (Amazon), Elon Musk (Tesla), and Tim Cook (Apple) are expected to attend the 2025 Inauguration, which happens on Martin Luther King Jr. (MLK) Day. The event will also include a live performance by Carrie Underwood during the ceremony.
As a proud citizen, it was an immense honor for me to be chosen to perform at the Inauguration, contributing in my small way to this momentous occasion. I am deeply humbled by this opportunity, especially considering the need for unity among us all at such a critical juncture as we look towards our shared future.
As a devoted follower, I’m thrilled to be sharing the stage with some incredible artists for this upcoming event. Among them are Gavin DeGraw, The Village People, and Nelly – all of whom have graciously agreed to perform. For me, performing at this inauguration is a chance to express my support for the Office and contribute to this special occasion.
In a conversation on the “Willie D. Live” podcast on January 18th, the rapper known as “My Place” expressed his backing for the President of the United States, irrespective of who currently holds that position.
Meanwhile, former first lady Michelle Obama confirmed she will not be attending.
According to a representative of the Obamas, it’s been confirmed that Former President Barack Obama will be present at the 60th Inaugural Ceremonies. However, Michelle Obama, the former first lady, won’t be attending the upcoming inauguration.
