Sarah Wynter found herself pondering about the possible variations in her character’s look on “Sex and the City“.
Initially, the actress who portrayed Elizabeth in the pilot episode of that HBO series was chosen to enact the show’s inaugural intimate scene with one of the late President John F. Kennedy’s nephews.
Sarah clarified during her interview with Kristin Davis on the podcast ‘Am I A Charlotte’ (on January 19), “The individual who was initially chosen to portray the boyfriend didn’t ultimately land the role. This came as a surprise to me when I arrived on set.
She revealed that she originally planned to act alongside Christopher Lawford, the son of English actor Peter Lawford and Pat Kennedy Lawford, who was President Kennedy’s sister. In other words, she was preparing to work with a member of the Kennedy family.
As I recounted, I attended the rehearsal, and in that moment, a thought crossed my mind: “That’s spot on.” It was as if we had the real Kennedy himself present, not just someone who resembled him.
Ultimately, Christopher, known for his roles on All My Children and author of books detailing his battles with addiction, was eventually replaced on the screen by actor Scott Bryce.
Sarah admitted, “Can you tell me what’s going on? It seems like he’s not around anymore or something has changed, but we haven’t been informed about it.
Besides the memory of filming the pilot for Sex and the City, which debuted in June 1998, another memory surfaced. Kristin, playing Charlotte York in the sequel series And Just Like That, also remembered feeling perplexed about a specific instruction given by the crew during the shooting of Sarah’s nude scene.
She shared with Sarah that on the day when you had to film the nude scene, I was preparing in the hair and makeup trailer. Suddenly, one of the makeup artists rushed in, exclaiming, “We need cups of ice for Sarah Wynter’s nipples!” We were taken aback, wondering what was happening.
Fortunately, Sarah managed to stay composed despite the situation. She recalled saying to herself, “I was trying my best to remain composed, but I turned out to be the one needing a cooling effect.

Ugh, what an a–hole.
Best moment: N/A.
After the writer’s subsequent behavior filled with unpleasantness and subtle hostility, it’s challenging to recall their lighthearted, playful moments together at the start. HE SPLIT UP WITH HER BY LEAVING A NOTE ON A STICKY NOTE.
Best moment: None are coming to mind at the moment, Berger. We’re sorry, we can’t. Don’t hate us.
No one believed this relationship would last, right? Still, Samantha gave it the ol’ college try.
Highlight of the Night: Following an evening spent with Carrie and her latest partner, where Samantha advised Big to take a step back, Maria expressed that she couldn’t maintain a friendship with Samantha.
In the reboot series “And Just Like That…”, was not the anticipated event for viewers that Miranda would end her marriage and chase after a stand-up comic across the nation?
Standout Scene: To be determined, let’s hope for something better… If not, the scene that brings the most laughter is probably when Che and Miranda get romantic in Carrie’s kitchen, all while a post-hip-surgery Carrie has an accident and wet her bed.
Ah, the Russian connection. Initially, it seemed like a storybook romance, but alas, it was more of a fairy tale than reality. He found it challenging to mesh with his partner’s circle of friends, and Carrie’s spontaneous decision to move to Paris turned out to be a misstep.
Most Memorable Instance: Following a multitude of extravagant romantic gestures, Carrie found herself utterly smitten. Consequently, Petrovsky escorted her, resplendent in her ideal wedding dress, to McDonald’s. There, they indulged in a leisurely dance as they waited for their fries to cook. We too were left in a state of romantic bliss.
Initially, Trey appeared to be an ideal match for Charlotte on paper. However, flaws started emerging in their relationship not long after their marriage (like his overbearing mother, issues with intimacy, reluctance to have children, etc.). And to top it off, he gave her a cardboard cut-out baby! Can you believe it?
Most Memorable Incident: The special occasion when Trey escorted Charlotte to Tiffany’s, allowing her to choose her ideal engagement ring as a gesture to compensate for his “Alrighty!” remark.
In my narrative, I share a personal experience about Samantha, where her initial non-sexual relationship encountered an unfortunate conclusion, primarily due to intimacy issues – more specifically, the disparity in physical attributes between the two parties. In this case, it was the size of James’ penis that became a significant factor.
Best moment: When Samantha told James she loved him. A huge (no pun intended) moment for her.
Poor, poor Skipper. He was kind of like a Steve-lite, and Miranda was able to walk all over him.
Best moment: When he calls her “luminous” during their chance meeting at a bodega.
In the films, it was a bit unexpected when Carrie’s close friend and Charlotte’s wedding coordinator ended up becoming best friends too, but we can go along with it.
Most Memorable Moment: A touching highlight from their wedding vows: Anthony confessed, “It wasn’t an immediate love connection, but in time I realized it was indeed love. You were the first person to embrace and understand the real me.
To put it simply, Aidan was an outstanding individual, but he wasn’t the ideal match for Carrie – despite their best efforts to persuade themselves otherwise. But wait until you see season two of And Just Like That…, as it seems that taking another shot might be the most popular fashion this summer! (Oh, we prefer not to remember their brief encounter in Sex and the City 2.)
Most Memorable Moment: Isn’t it unusual that we found their second breakup scene, where they slept on the floor of an apartment they would never share, to be touching?
As a lifestyle connoisseur, allow me to share an intriguing tale. There once was a man named Robert, nearly flawless in every aspect – he was a charismatic physician for the New York Knicks who shared my fondness for daytime dramas, specifically the shows Miranda adores. However, despite his many admirable qualities, there was one glaring oversight: he simply wasn’t Steve.
Most Memorable Moment: The first time they shared a kiss, which was reminiscent of high school locker encounters or mailboxes. Alternatively, it could be when she took a day off work for the very first time, especially for him. Lastly, but not to be forgotten, the occasion when one of them contracted chicken pox.
Among all the men on Sex and the City, Smith Jerrod could very well be the most admirable. He displayed remarkable patience and generosity towards the fiercely independent Samantha, who put up a strong fight against falling in love with the former model turned superstar.
Most touching memory: Isn’t it heartwarming to recall the moment Smith cut off his long hair, symbolizing solidarity with Samantha during her chemotherapy journey?
Absof–kinglutely. (Curse you, Peloton!)
Most Memorable Scene: Isn’t it obvious? The top pick has to be when Big surprised Carrie by going to Paris to confess his true feelings for her! (Even though the bed fart/whoopee cushion trick never fails to bring a chuckle.)
Much like how Miranda’s affection for Steve took her by surprise, we found ourselves feeling the same intense fondness for the couple – it came crashing down on us, much as their separation did during the premiere of “And Just Like That…”. Long live Steve!
Most Memorable Moment: Without a doubt, a moment encapsulating SATC‘s least fussy pair was when Miranda unexpectedly proposed and they had an incredibly casual wedding in the park. They were truly themselves; it was absolutely fitting.
Love can unexpectedly appear in your life, such as when an unsuspected, unpolished attorney during a messy divorce transformation becomes the ideal partner and exceptional parent for your children beyond expectations.
Most cherished memory: The charmingly disorganized yet flawlessly imperfect wedding ceremony. Since the start of the series, Charlotte had envisioned a fairytale wedding, but what she received was a fairytale marriage instead.
What truly matters most in life is your loved ones – your family. There will be times when you cherish them deeply and others when you may feel less connected, but they are the constant presence that welcomes you back home. Sometimes, this family is the one you’re born into; other times, it’s the one you choose to build yourself.
Standout Scene: Initially, we were strongly drawn to depict Carrie walking Miranda down the aisle during her mother’s funeral, but we deemed it more fitting to showcase a scene with all four friends. Our preferred choice is when Miranda shows indifference towards her wedding upon learning about Samantha’s breast cancer diagnosis, and they all momentarily ignore the celebration to support each other instead. This reflects the essence of friendship: prioritizing others over oneself.
