The upcoming Season 14 of “Death in Paradise” is just about here, and the BBC has shared some exclusive sneak peeks today, offering fans a tantalizing preview of the exciting events that will unfold in the season opener.
Detective Don Gilet made his first appearance as DI Mervin Wilson during the latest holiday special set in Saint Marie. His character was left pondering about how long he could stay on the island at the end of the episode.
After the passing of his distant mother, Mervin was almost certain to return to the United Kingdom. However, events unfolding at the Saint Marie police department due to another unexpected death have led him to embark on a crucial investigation instead, offering a potential chance for change.
The images you see, both above and below, highlight the primary cast of Death in Paradise. Among them is the newest addition, Gilet, along with recurring actors such as Elizabeth Bourgine portraying Catherine Bordey, Don Warrington as Commissioner Selwyn Patterson, Shantol Jackson as DS Naomi Thomas, and Ginny Holder playing officer Darlene Curtis.
In the meantime, Tobi Bakare (from seasons 4-10) makes a comeback for another guest appearance, this time playing JP, who will be sharing the screen with Anthony J Abraham, known for his roles in The Acolyte and Bad Education, as they introduce a new character, Officer Benjamin Brice.
Down below, Detective Wilson is diligently working on unraveling the mystery of the recent questionable death that occurred in Saint Marie, with two emergency responders in the proximity, taking away a corpse-covered bag.

In the opening game, Commissioner Patterson is expected to get significant news from the commissioner stationed in Jamaica. This news may cause Mayor Catherine to take immediate action to preserve the current form of the team.
In the 14th season, Naomi’s significant storyline involves an unexpected ex reappearing in Saint Marie, causing her to grapple with complex emotions and face difficult decisions about her future.
