Experience the thrill of “Bocchi the Rock!” – the sensational music anime adapted from Aki Hamazi’s manga – which offers an exceptionally authentic portrayal of social anxiety within the realm of animation, complemented by a phenomenal rock soundtrack! Exciting news for fans: Embrace that same nervous energy in your own homes with the arrival of a fresh lineup of Nendoroid mystery collectibles!
The anime adaptation of ‘Bocchi the Rock!’ premiered in 2022, and it quickly became a favorite among viewers, earning a 4.9-star rating on Crunchyroll. The story revolves around Hitori Gotō, a shy high school student who often plays her guitar. One day, she encounters Nijika, a drummer who invites her to join the all-girl band ‘Kessoku’. Studio CloverWorks adapted Aki Hamazi’s manga for the screen, and now Good Smile Company is introducing charming new Nendoroid figures based on these designs.
Bocchi the Rock!‘s Nendoroids Are Hilariously Relatable
In addition to the captivating music by Kessoku band in the show, fans adore how much they can identify with Hitori Gotō as a character. This same relatability is found in the latest collection of figurines from Good Smile Company, specifically their Nendoroid Surprise series. Recently, six new figures based on “Bocchi the Rock!” have been unveiled.
In the Kessoku band, each character has their unique action figure that reflects their distinct personality. Ryo Yamada appears mischievous, Okuyo Kita exudes confidence, while Nijika Ijichi seems ready to ask her older sister for another favor. Interestingly, Hitori, who dislikes attention in the series, surprisingly finds herself represented by three figures in the new version – a playful twist that goes against her wishes.
The illustrations show Hitori at three distinct points of anxiety throughout her story. Even when she appears most relaxed, there’s an underlying tension that feels quite anxious. One drawing features Hitori in her maid costume from Episode 11, where the school’s decision to run a maid cafe causes immense dread and worry for her. The third image mirrors a scenario from Episode 2, where we see Hitori immersed in an ice-cold bath, attempting to catch a cold to avoid work, with a disheartened expression on her face – a situation many people can relate to.
At the moment, you can reserve these latest collectibles on Aniami before they hit the shelves. Each mystery figure costs approximately 9,720 JPY or around $62. Households are limited to purchasing a maximum of six pieces. The anticipated release date for these figures is September 2025.
Bocchi the Rock! Season 2, When?
Although receiving favorable reviews from viewers and gaining a substantial devoted fanbase, Bocchi the Rock! has yet to be formally confirmed for a follow-up season. Since its debut in 2022, there have been no announcements concerning Season 2. In 2024, a cinematic recap was premiered in theaters, which turned out to be a significant commercial hit, grossing $3.5 million globally. Regrettably, even this achievement fell short of securing a second season for the series.
Presently, “Bocchi the Rock!” finds itself in a state of temporary suspension within the realm of anime production. Contrary to some online speculation, it has not been officially terminated. However, it lacks a definitive plan for the future. Here’s keeping our fingers crossed that the upcoming line of collectible figurines might spark a chain reaction, potentially resulting in the creation of “Bocchi the Rock!” Season 2.
In simple terms, the initial run of “Bocchi the Rock!” spanned 12 exciting episodes. You can catch all these shows, free of charge but with commercial breaks, on Crunchyroll’s streaming platform.
