NCSoft’s Horizon MMO May Not Have Been Cancelled After All – Rumour

It was previously reported that the Horizon MMORPG supposedly being developed by NCSoft had been scrapped. However, in light of recent cancellations of live services on PlayStation, this news didn’t raise too many eyebrows. Interestingly, it now appears that the project might have managed to dodge the chopping block.

As a gamer, I’ve got some news straight from the horse’s mouth – NCSoft has indeed called off the development of a project they were working on, known as Project H. Contrary to what some folks might have been whispering, this game isn’t the Horizon MMO that’s being cooked up in collaboration with PlayStation and Guerrilla. This is according to reporter Seo Jeong-geun, who originally broke the story for Korean outlet MTN. On a gaming forum called Ruliweb, Seo clarified that the Project H in question has no connection to Horizon.

It’s intriguing to note that job postings from NCSoft suggest that they are working on an MMO named Horizon, code-named Project Skyline. Earlier, this project was known as Project H, but it seems that title was being used for a different, now-cancelled project. This implies that NCSoft is still teaming up with Guerrilla and PlayStation on the Horizon project. They entered into a strategic partnership with Sony in November of 2023.

Currently, Guerrilla is additionally developing an independent cooperative project named “Horizon,” which is speculated to be their upcoming major release. You can learn more about it by clicking here.
