It appears that AMD may be gearing up to unveil its latest series of graphics cards in the near future. The head of AMD’s consumer GPU and CPU division, David McAfee, hinted at this on social media platform X, indicating that AMD aims for a March release window for their upcoming line of graphics cards.

Although a definite launch date hasn’t been revealed as of now, McAfee’s post hints that AMD has been making steady progress in refining the software drivers for their upcoming Radeon 9000-series graphic cards.

McAfee shared, “The Radeon 9000 series hardware and software appear fantastic, and we’re excited to offer a diverse range of these cards worldwide. Gamers won’t have long to wait – they can get their hands on them when they hit the shelves in March!

It’s plausible that since McAfee referenced the full Radeon 9000 series instead of a particular GPU, AMD might introduce all four graphics cards they showcased at CES 2025 in March.

Here are four upcoming graphics cards in the Radeon 9000 series: the Radeon RX 9070, RX 9070 XT, RX 9060, and RX 9060 XT. Although the manufacturer hasn’t disclosed specifics like their clock speeds for these new GPUs yet, they have shared that the naming convention for the Radeon 9000-series graphics cards is designed to help consumers compare them with similar Nvidia GPUs based on their names.

The technical specifications we have learned about AMD’s upcoming GPUs reveal that both the RX 9070 and 9070 XT models will boast 16 GB of GDDR6 VRAM, whereas the RX 9060 and 9060 XT will come equipped with 8 GB of GDDR6 VRAM. Additionally, it’s worth noting that all four of these new graphics cards are built on a 4nm process node.

At CES 2025, Nvidia showcased its latest high-end graphics cards in the GeForce RTX 5000 series, with AMD focusing more on mid-range hardware. The lineup includes the flagship RTX 5090, boasting 32 GB of GDDR7 VRAM and 21,760 CUDA cores, along with the RTX 5080, RTX 5070, and RTX 5070 Ti.

The upcoming GeForce RTX 5090 is set to retail at $1,999, making it Nvidia’s costliest consumer-level graphics card. As compared to this, the RTX 5080 is scheduled for launch in January and will be available for $999. Furthermore, the upper mid-range models, RTX 5070 and 5070 Ti, are expected to hit the shelves in February, with prices of $549 and $759 respectively.
