At the AEW Grand Slam event held in Brisbane, Australia, age-old adversaries Will Ospreay and Kenny Omega will join forces to face off against the Don Callis clan.
At the beginning of tonight’s episode of AEW Dynamite, Ospreay and Omega faced each other in a tense standoff. As tensions rose, Konosuke Takeshita, Brian Cage, Lance Archer, and Kyle Fletcher seized the moment to join the fray. The brawl spread throughout the entire arena before culminating with Ospreay and Omega tossing Archer through a merchandise table, effectively ending the chaos.
Ascending to great heights, we performed awe-inspiring moonsaults from the pillars, landing amongst our fellow competitors. As the Don Callis Family tactically retreated, I found myself scaling those same heights once more, setting forth a bold challenge for Takeshita, Fletcher, Ospreay, and myself, all to be faced at the AEW Grand Slam event on February 15th.
Kenny Omega and Will Ospreay’s Unlikely Tag Team
As a cinephile, I find myself eagerly anticipating the pivotal moment when two captivating tales intertwine. One of these narratives revolves around the highly-anticipated rematch between Omega and Takeshita. At present, “The Alpha” holds the AEW International Championship title. However, despite the clamor from fans for Omega’s inclusion in the world championship race, it seems his attention is drawn elsewhere for now.
Initially, we have Ospreay and Fletcher, ex-teammates who clashed significantly towards the end of the previous year. Currently, they stand at a 1-1 record in their ongoing rivalry. If Ospreay aims to advance further, it seems he must focus on outmaneuvering Fletcher for now. Given their impressive past accomplishments, it’s intriguing that these wrestling titans have never collaborated during their careers. Whether they’re in New Japan Pro Wrestling or AEW, this new dynamic is both unusual and exciting.
1) Additionally, it seems like they might renew their conflict in the future, which isn’t an unlikely scenario. After overcoming a potentially fatal injury, Omega is reminded of the importance of his career. Before retiring, securing the remaining dream matches, conflicts, and narratives becomes crucial.
So far, the AEW Grand Slam event features one more confirmed match: Toni Storm versus Mariah May for the Women’s World Championship. Previously, these two have fought each other, but now Storm is suffering from amnesia that has erased her memories of the last year in her career. Could this be another iconic performance by the timeless Mrs. Toni Storm? We’ll have to wait and see what unexpected strategies the former multi-time Women’s Champion might employ.
