Resident Evil 9 “100 Percent” Stars Leon S. Kennedy as The Protagonist – Rumor

Aesthetic Gamer, who is also known as Dusk Golem, the Resident Evil leaker, has made it clear that speculations about Jill Valentine having a significant part in Resident Evil 9 are unfounded. The rumors also suggested that the upcoming game would be based in a hospital and introduce a new Goatman antagonist.

Nevertheless, a screenshot on Discord suggests that Leon S. Kennedy has been confirmed as the primary character without a doubt. Although his last canonical appearance was in Resident Evil 6, he recently featured prominently in the successful Resident Evil 4 remake, which has sold over nine million copies.

Regarding another Discord image dating back to 2001 where a leaker suggested Jill would have a significant part, Aesthetic Gamer responded with “It was accurate at the time. However, it’s not the case anymore. It’s really as simple as that. I wouldn’t be shocked if, when Resident Evil 9 is released, they reveal early sketches of the game depicting Jill in a more prominent role initially.

The ninth installment of the Resident Evil series, titled Resident Evil 9, does not yet have a specific release date, but Capcom has confirmed that it is currently being developed. This project is being overseen by Koshi Nakanishi, who was the director of Resident Evil 7: biohazard, and he expressed that the game feels “significant.” While there are rumors suggesting it may come out as late as this year, it’s also possible that it might not be released until 2026.

In addition, it’s rumored that there will be reboots of “Resident Evil Zero” and “Resident Evil – Code: Veronica”. The first is said to be developed by K2 and M-Two, who were involved in the remake of “Resident Evil 3”. The second, on the other hand, is being handled by Capcom Dev 1, known for their work on the remakes of “Resident Evil 2” and “4”. Keep an eye out for further information and updates over the next few months.
