Assassin’s Creed Shadows – Yasuke Will Not Have Any Assassin Abilities Like Eagle Vision

In the game “Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” one of the two main characters, Yasuke, will be a rarity among Assassin’s Creed protagonists because he is not an assassin himself. The associate game director, Simon Lemay-Comtois, shared in an interview with GamesRadar that this means Yasuke won’t have the ability to use certain assassin tools such as Eagle Vision.

As suggested by Lemay-Comtois, Yasuke will significantly contribute to the plot of “Assassin’s Creed Shadows,” despite not being an Assassin himself. One of the key reasons for his importance, as stated by Lemay-Comtois, is that he is not a Japanese Assassin, which sets him apart from the usual characters in the series. He works closely with Naoe, but unlike other Assassins, he does not need to adhere to the Assassin’s order.

The choice was made to withhold special abilities like Eagle Vision from Yasuke, as his unique viewpoint as an outsider, both towards Japanese culture and the assassins, is invaluable. This also necessitated the studio to differentiate Yasuke and Naoe not just narratively but mechanically as well.

Lemay-Comtois replied negatively when queried about whether Yasuke’s Eagle Vision would simplify things. Instead, he emphasized that playing as Yasuke requires a distinct approach compared to Naoe.

As we approach the March 20 launch date for “Assassin’s Creed Shadows”, Ubisoft has been quite transparent about the upcoming game. Notably, they revealed that the recent delay was to allow developers more time to refine the interaction between the parkour mechanics and the distinctive rooftops found in the Feudal Japan environment of the game.

As a fan, I can confidently say that the project I’ve been working on is arguably the most intricate one I’ve encountered, when considering its complexity against the backdrop of classics like ‘Odyssey’ and ‘Syndicate’. Game director Charles Benoit recently elaborated on this, emphasizing the need for custom codes and unique animations to achieve a seamless, fluid parkour transition. This was in response to feedback we received, and it’s been significantly enhanced over the past few months.

Ubisoft announced that “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” won’t have the expansive open worlds they’ve faced criticism for previously. Instead, Creative Director Jonathan Dumont explained that while the game will boast high-quality visuals at different scales, it won’t be filled with new points of interest every 50 meters like some of their past games.

Lately, Ubisoft has unveiled several accessibility features for the upcoming game Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Alongside options like colorblind modes and screen narration, it will also offer navigation assistance, customizable controls, and multiple difficulty levels to ensure as many players as possible can enjoy and complete the game.

The action-adventure game, “Assassin’s Creed Shadows”, is set to arrive on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S platforms. Concurrently, the Animus Hub will debut, serving as a centralized platform for all “Assassin’s Creed” games released post-“Origins”. However, titles within the franchise that were released prior to “Origins” won’t be compatible with the Animus Hub.
