Catelynn Lowell has no interest in remaining mum.
Four months following the disclosure by the Teen Mom star that her phone number had been barred by her biological daughter Carly’s adoptive parents, Brandon Davis and Teresa Davis, Catelynn expressed in an exclusive conversation with TopMob News, “It is absolutely certain they have severed all ties in the adoption. I am still blocked from contacting them and they recently informed me to cease sending gifts as they were deemed inappropriate and unnecessary, among other issues.
To put it another way, as the MTV star explained, even after over a decade since placing her 15-year-old child up for adoption, their relationship is still strained.
Despite the adoption door now appearing closed in its previous open state, the Michigan native continues to seek an alternative opening.
Alongside husband Tyler Baltierra, they have inquired about, and still ask, “Is Carly avoiding contact?” Catelynn mentioned. “Since it might be Carly not wanting contact, it would sadden us, but we would comprehend and respond, ‘If you ever desire interaction, we’re ready and fully grasp that this whole situation could be tough for you.’
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old emphasized, “If it seems like only her parents are reacting out of fear, I believe as the birth mother, it’s my responsibility to demonstrate my ongoing efforts at communication to this child. This is crucial for her, especially if that’s what she prefers, in the long run.
Indeed, she along with Tyler, who are proud parents to daughters Nova (aged 10), Vaeda (5), and Rya (3), will indeed carry on revealing their entire adoption story in the upcoming season of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, which airs on MTV at 8 p.m. on January 30.
Catelynn clarified that culturally, the topic of adoption is often viewed in a favorable manner. However, when they began discussing their struggles and intense emotions related to adoption, people reacted with surprise, suggesting they should be grateful instead. Yet, as she pointed out, adoption encompasses much more than just sweet experiences – it involves trauma, pain, sadness, uncertainty, and numerous difficult aspects as well.
As she begins the 16th year of the franchise (which coincidentally is the same age she was when Carly was born in 2009), Catelynn reflected. “I believe it’s crucial for everyone to understand that while there are positive aspects, there are also challenging ones,” she added. “Currently, we’re experiencing a phase where many of the difficult situations are surfacing, particularly as Carly grows older. It’s okay to feel and deal with these tough emotions, and discussing them openly is important.
She certainly wishes she was armed with more knowledge back when she was a scared high schooler.
Over the past few months, I’ve plunged into some deep cosmic voids, and it wasn’t until recently that I truly grasped the vast expanse of knowledge about adoptees. The data, the figures, and insights about birth parents were like uncharted galaxies to me – information I was never properly informed about or educated on. What disturbed me the most was the lack of comprehensive guidance I received when making such a life-altering decision.
This is the reason behind them, married for nine years, utilizing their substantial influence to voice their experiences on all related matters.
Catelynn emphasized the importance of discussing the genuine experiences of adoptees, as they are the ones most significantly impacted. She believes people should be aware of these challenges if they’re considering adoption, as she wasn’t informed about them and found herself surprised by many aspects as she grew older, finding it extremely difficult.
Not that she’s afraid of the struggle.
As Carly matures, Catelynn emphasized that her dream for their future relationship is entirely up to her. “Whether she desires a connection with her biological siblings, or a bond with us, fantastic. If she prefers not to, I fully get it. Whatever form it takes for her, it’s crucial that it prioritizes her needs as an adoptee.
Regarding her and Tyler’s other daughters, she mentioned that they have always been transparent with their children regarding Carly and their parenting decisions. Nova, in particular, is quite open about her adoption journey and often shares it with strangers, a testament to the family’s honesty in discussing this topic.
Pictures of Carly continue to adorn the home. “It seems natural to us,” Catelynn revealed. “However, I find it difficult when they inquire, ‘Why don’t we see her anymore?’ As their curiosity stirs, it also impacts them emotionally.
After years apart since their middle school days, she and Tyler, aged 33, might not have envisioned their future as intertwined, but they’re part of a group of Teen Mom personalities who have progressed to mature relationships. Take a look at other stars from the series who have found their ideal partners.
In 2009, viewers witnessed Catelynn Lowell and her partner Tyler Baltierra, now husband, make a challenging decision to give their first-born daughter, Carly, up for adoption during the premiere season of the show “16 and Pregnant”. After thirteen years as a couple, they got married in August 2015. Since then, they have welcomed three more daughters into their family: Novalee, Vaeda, and Rya.
Despite the lingering sorrow from Carly’s absence, who resides with her foster parents Brandon and Teresa Davis, the couple remains determined to build a hopeful future.
In an interview with TopMob News in January 2025, Catelynn expressed that their bond with her sibling is whatever the adoptee desires. She stated, “If she wants a relationship with her biological siblings, or if she prefers to have a connection with us, that’s great. If not, we completely understand. Whatever she feels comfortable with is what matters most because it should be centered around her.
In the span of less than six months, Maci Bookout faced challenges with an unreliable Ryan Edwards during their time on the show 16 and Pregnant. Despite their engagement, these high school sweethearts parted ways just under a year after their son Bentley was born in 2008.
Currently, they are working towards establishing a shared parenting partnership. In an interview with TopMob News in 2023, Maci disclosed, “Things are going well,” explaining that Ryan is being more regular in his appearances than possibly ever before.
In 2012, Maci came across her lifelong partner, Taylor McKinney from Texas. Together, they started expanding their team. They were blessed with daughter Jayde in May 2015 and son Maverick a year afterwards. Their union was sealed in Florida in October of the same year.
In 2023, she shared with TopMob News that her partner is her soulmate in life, parenting, and their TTM Lifestyle brand. When asked about their relationship, she said, “He’s simply the one for me.” Despite facing challenging times, she emphasized that she would rather endure arguments or difficult periods with him than to be without any troubles with someone else. Even if there are moments when she feels like punching him, she prefers to work through issues together rather than going through such trials with anyone else.
In spite of both dating different people now, the MTV celebrities, who became close during the production of The Challenge, still share parental responsibilities for their child, Ryder, jointly.
Cheyenne shared with TopMob News in March 2020 that the main focus for them since Cory entered Ryder’s life has been about being a committed father and parent. She made sure he wouldn’t be a part-time or superficial dad, but someone fully invested. From the start, she believes Cory recognized her dedication to co-parenting and respected it, which is why they work so well together.
Following the conclusion of their romance in 2018, they opted to rekindle their relationship. During Cheyenne’s 28th birthday celebration, she announced on Instagram that they were back together. In May 2021, their first child, a son named Ace, was born, and they got married in September 2022.
Cheyenne shared with TopMob News in 2024 that the previous two years had been about achieving goals on their checklist. They expressed that they’d always desired to have a baby and welcomed Ace into their family. Marriage was another aspiration, and they held a wedding ceremony. Lastly, they longed for a house, and indeed, they became homeowners.
She went on to say, “I have no desire for action or setting a target. Instead, I long for tranquility, a state of rest. My aim is simply to remain still and content with our current situation. All I wish for is to appreciate one another. That’s all there is to it – nothing more.
Establishing a bond during filming for ‘Ex on the Beach’ might not initially seem like the foundation of a love story, but fast-forward several years and two children – daughters named Mila and Maya – later, Cory and ‘Are You the One?’ alum Taylor Selfridge are still causing quite a splash.
In 2023, he confided in TopMob News that they had recently purchased a new home. He further mentioned that the topic of their wedding was under discussion, but he acknowledged people’s curiosity about it. He explained, “We’ve discussed it extensively, but we’re still waiting for the right moment to propose and for her to accept the ring. Taylor is someone who deserves this special moment, and it’s something that I, too, eagerly look forward to. At present, we’re making preparations to reach that point.
After marrying Mackenzie Standifer in May 2017, Ryan sought help at a rehab facility not long afterwards. Their first child, Jagger, was born in 2018, during the time when Ryan was still undergoing treatment.
In early 2020, the couple happily welcomed a daughter named Stella into their family, but three years down the line, Mackenzie initiated a divorce proceedings. Currently, Ryan is betrothed to Amanda Conner, who carries their upcoming first child.
Ever since their tumultuous relationship reached its breaking point in 2013, I, as a diehard fan, find myself captivated by how they’ve navigated co-parenting their now-teenager, Leah. It’s a testament to their shared love for her that they’ve managed to keep things together.
In an interview with TopMob News in January 2022, Amber shared, “We enjoy each other’s company while keeping our distance, yet our bond remains strong. Our relationship has evolved into something like a family, and we prioritize it as such over any other aspect.
After spending several years as a couple, Amber and Matt Baier (originally from Boston), who had previously attempted marriage but failed during a stint on ‘Marriage Boot Camp’, ended their engagement in the year 2017.
In Dr. Drew Pinsky’s podcast, Amber shared her personal experience: “At some point, I simply reached a level of exhaustion with the relationship, and I found myself no longer caring as deeply as I should have. To protect myself from potential pain, I erected a wall between us.
During the filming of “Marriage Boot Camp”, Amber developed feelings for crew member Andrew Glennon. The duo officially appeared together at the 2017 MTV Movie Awards and in May 2018, they welcomed their first child, James, into the world.
However, the pair parted ways shortly following Amber’s arrest on charges of domestic battery in July 2019. After a challenging legal dispute, it was decided in 2022 that California native Andrew would be granted full legal and primary physical custody of their son.
The “Teen Mom” celebrity shared with TopMob News that they have put in a great deal of effort towards personal growth and strengthening their bond with their kids. They emphasized that although they’ve been open about their history with substance abuse and mental health issues, everyone deserves an opportunity to move past their past challenges and not be defined solely by them.
Refusing to back down, she expressed, “Even if your path hasn’t always been smooth, yet you’ve tirelessly worked towards becoming a better, stronger, and compassionate individual today. Continue pressing forward, as I too shall. Rest assured, my unwavering fight is for the children I cherish beyond measure.
Following an online encounter with Amber, Dimitri Garcia first appeared on “Teen Mom OG” in April 2020. On the program, Amber revealed some details about Dimitri, stating, “Dimitri is from Belgium, and he’s 39 years old, which makes him 10 years older than me. However, he’s a very attractive man.” She continued, “I gradually opened up to him, and we decided it would be best to meet since we both like each other.
In April 2021, Amber openly discussed on the Teen Mom OG reunion special that she was still in a relationship with Dimitri. She stated, “We’ve been acquainted for approximately 18 months, but I haven’t seen him for a year.” Although Amber and Dimitri never publicly confirmed a breakup, Amber introduced her new boyfriend, Gary Wayt, during a June 2024 episode of Teen Mom: The Next Chapter.
After Amber made contact with Gary 2.0 through a dating app in autumn of 2023, he appeared on the screen as she presented him to her fellow cast members during a virtual meeting.
Despite his proposal in May 2024, their engagement didn’t last long. During her stay in North Carolina for her brother’s wedding in June, Gary left them following an argument, causing Amber to file a missing person report.
And while Gary was soon located, the duo’s engagment wasn’t the only thing left broken.
As Amber shared on Teen Mom: The Next Chapter, I found myself tormented by the belief that my partner was no more for three to four days. I had to confront the heart-wrenching task of grieving and struggling to comprehend why such a cruel act could be perpetrated against me. Currently, I’m navigating through a difficult time in my life.
She went on saying, “This man shattered me. I used to be strong and steady. For the first time in years, I’m not feeling quite myself because a man proposed to me with a ring.
Several months passed following the birth of their daughter Emilee in April 2015, and eventually, Gary and his wife Kristina Anderson held a charming beach wedding.
In his 2022 Instagram post, Gary expressed, “Your soul is one of the most radiant and lovely I’ve encountered. I can’t imagine navigating life without your presence.
In December 2008, exactly two months before she was born, the man who was Farrah Abraham’s daughter Sophia’s father tragically passed away due to an accident.
In a significant change from her life after losing her high school sweetheart, Farrah had an on-again, off-again romance with realtor Simon Saran that lasted more than two years.
Despite the bitter breakup they experienced in 2017, which was quite contentious, they made an effort to maintain some semblance of friendship, albeit tentatively.
Simon expressed to TopMob News that he bears no grudges against Farrah. He explained, “We come from distinct spheres. She thrives on the artificial, while I seek authenticity. I truly hope she finds continued success in all her future ventures.
Jenelle Evans and Andrew Lewis, who are Jace’s parents, parted ways shortly after his birth in 2009. Since then, Jenelle has not been actively involved in her son’s life.
In the 2019 episode of Teen Mom 2, Jenelle pondered, “I genuinely feel sad that’s Jace’s father. However, I know his character, and I don’t wish for him to let down my son. I don’t want him to reappear and then disappear again.
As a die-hard fan, I’ve been following the journey of my beloved star, Jenelle. After a whirlwind one-year marriage with Courtland Rogers, she became a mother to her second child, the adorable Kaiser, with her ex, Nathan Griffin, in 2014. Fast forward eight months, and she was walking down the aisle again, this time with David Eason, on their North Carolina property in September 2017. This special day came just eight months after the birth of their daughter, Ensley. The love story continues!
Following a tough period, David was accused of a minor child abuse offense concerning Jace. At that time, Jenelle described it as a “smear campaign” against him. Later, Jenelle disclosed that they had parted ways. She explained on social media that she couldn’t immediately file for divorce because in North Carolina, you must be legally separated for a year first, and you need to demonstrate that you live at two separate addresses.
Recall the suave individual who inquired from his then-girlfriend, Chelsea Houska, about when he could “finalize the documents regarding that error”?
Completely in the rearview.
Despite the long history, the former Teen Mom star and current HGTV personality maintains an amicable bond with her high school ex, Adam Lind, who is Aubree’s father. As she shared with Us Weekly, “There’s no negative energy, it’s just a very transparent relationship. There are no hard feelings. We occasionally meet up, and everything goes smoothly.
In 2014, Chelsea and Cole DeBoer’s chance encounter at a gas station blossomed into an eternal bond when they got married in October 2016. Since then, they have expanded their family with the arrival of son Watson (in 2017) and daughters Layne and Walker (in 2018 and 2021). The duo is now embarking on a new venture together: Their HGTV series Down Home Fab.
Speaking with TopMob News, Chelsea articulated her desire for their potential return to TV. She wanted it to be a positive and uplifting experience, allowing them to express their genuine selves. In her words, this seemed like an ideal chance, describing it as “an incredibly appealing opportunity”.
Despite Leah Messer and Corey Simms’ efforts to transform their friendship into a lifelong union, the parents of now-teenagers Aleeah and Aliannah decided to part ways just six months following their October 2010 wedding ceremony, by filing for divorce.
Corey has been married to Miranda Patterson since 2013.
In the year 2012, Leah got married to Jeremy Calvert. The following year, they became parents to a baby girl named Adalynn.
Even though they went their separate ways back in 2015, they’ve been diligently co-parenting their daughter, with outcomes that can sometimes be a rollercoaster ride. As Leah expressed to TopMob News, “I see my own reflection in its purest form when I gaze upon myself, and witnessing the passions and joy they embody makes me feel like an even better version of myself. Being there for them in their lives, sharing in their experiences, is nothing short of enchanting. I cherish every moment of it, I truly do. Being a mom, especially to daughters, holds a special place in my heart.
By the year 2021, when Leah made their relationship Instagram official with Jaylan Mobley, this U.S. Army officer had previously won over not only Leah but also her children as well.
The couple announced their engagement in August 2022, but broke up that October.
A year ago, the ‘Teen Mom’ star admitted to TopMob News that they really needed the breakup. They shared that they’ve gained valuable insights from their past relationship and are now excited about the new chapter in their life, feeling as if it’s just starting fresh.
Kailyn Lowry gave birth to her first child, Isaac, with her high school sweetheart Jo Rivera, when she was only 17 years old, back in the year 2010.
Despite parting ways a year later, they have since established an amicable co-parenting relationship. Interestingly, Kailyn co-hosted her now-canceled “Baby Mamas No Drama” podcast with Jo’s wife, Vee Torres, following their wedding in 2018. In Kailyn’s words, posted on X after the event, “We’ve come a long way since we were 18. I couldn’t ask for a better stepmom for Isaac.
In November 2013, Kailyn’s second child, Lincoln, became part of the team. This was about a year after she married his father, Javi Marroquin, who was well-known at that time on the show Teen Mom 2.
In late 2016, their relationship experienced ups and downs, with Javi and his fiancée, Lauren Comeau (mother of their son Eli), announcing in December 2023 that they were expecting their second child, a daughter.
Despite the fact that Kailyn had sons, Lux and Creed, together with her partner Chris Lopez during their tumultuous relationship, they ultimately decided to end things permanently.
In an interview with TopMob News back in 2020, she admitted that currently, there is no communication between us. She’s optimistic that things will improve over time, but she doesn’t have any grand plans. She has nothing negative to express. All she wishes for our children is that the situation resolves itself positively, regardless of which way it goes.
With her current partner Elijah Scott, Kailyn now feels she has a solid base. “He’s unlike any of my previous partners or the fathers of my kids,” she shared with People regarding Elijah, father to her son Rio and twins Verse and Valley. “He works with concrete, gets his hands dirty on the job. But he’s also a genuine family man. He’s deeply connected with his own family, our family, making him an excellent partner for me. I feel like we make a great pair.
A strong enough one that she finally said yes to one of his many proposals, in fact.
In an interview with TopMob News in September 2024, Kailyn firmly stated about her future spouse, who initially started as a neighbor, “He proposed to me multiple times, and I never said ‘no,’ but instead, I replied, ‘Yes, but not just yet.’
Though she admitted that the construction worker certainly influenced her viewpoint about marriage, she’s not necessarily in a hurry to purchase a white wedding dress. Kailyn humorously added, “The timeline for our marriage seems to depend on the day you happen to ask me.
Despite experiencing various highs and lows since the birth of their daughter Kloie in 2017, Indiana residents Jade Cline and Sean Austin hinted to fans in January 2022 that they were climbing upwards.
She shared with TopMob News that significant events occurred in our lives, as well as substantial advancements in Sean’s life and future. I am incredibly proud of him and our current situation. Eight months after this conversation, the duo announced their engagement, tying the knot in October 2023.
In an interview with TopMob News in 2024, Jade admitted that her relationship isn’t always flawless. However, she emphasized that they have a strong bond of love and manage to navigate through their challenges.
In the year 2021, long-time Californian residents Ashley Jones and Bar Smith chose to tie the knot privately – a decision four years after they had become parents to their precious little girl named Holly.
But after calling off their romance several times, Ashley officially filed for divorce in 2024.
A while after the debut of “16 and Pregnant” star Briana DeJesus and Devoin Austin II became parents to Nova in 2011, there were signs that they might rekindle their relationship.
Currently, Briana shared with TopMob News in 2024, “What I’m looking for now is a genuine adult male, not the young men I’ve been accustomed to dating in the past.
Following her appearance on the one season of ‘Teen Mom 3’, Briana made a transition to the cast of ‘Teen Mom 2’ during its eighth season. In July 2017, she welcomed her second daughter, Stella, with her former partner, Luis Miguel.
After that point, Luis has been inconsistently present at most times. During a Teen Mom 2 episode in December 2019, Briana shared with Dr. Drew her thoughts: “He seems to desire a family with me,” she said, “and since I’m not providing him with that, he appears to prefer keeping his distance entirely.
