Wynne Evans taking time off from BBC Radio show after Strictly tour controversy

Wynne Evans is taking time off from his BBC Radio Wales show, the station has confirmed.

The news arises following a public apology from the Strictly Come Dancing star and opera singer, who often appears in advertisements for Go Compare, over an “improper and intolerable” remark he made at the start of the Strictly live tour this month.

According to The Mail on Sunday, Evans is said to have made an inappropriate, sexually suggestive remark towards former Strictly professional dancer and It Takes Two host, Janette Manrara, during a group photo session for the dance tour in Birmingham.

Over the weekend, Evans told BBC News, “What I said was not suitable or acceptable, and for that, I genuinely apologize.

As a passionate movie-goer chiming in, I’d like to share this: “I’ve been vocal about my stance – misconduct won’t fly during our live tour. To be honest, we weren’t privy to that comment before, nor did we get any complaints about it.

Regarding the query about Wynne missing from his BBC Radio Wales show today (January 27th), a representative stated, “Wynne is temporarily stepping away from his Radio Wales program. Robin Morgan will fill in for him instead.

At the moment, it’s uncertain for how long Evans won’t be appearing on the show, but humorist Morgan often fills in for him in such situations, even during his time on Strictly.
