Instead of eagerly waiting for the upcoming sequel of Five Nights at Freddy’s, fans might find solace in another film that shares a resemblance with the popular game series. In fact, Blumhouse is developing a second movie based on this renowned video game franchise, slated for release later in the year. For those who can’t wait, it could be intriguing to explore an equally chilling movie featuring animatronics possessed by malevolent spirits, with Nicolas Cage leading the cast in this spine-tingling adventure.
The title of the movie is Willy’s Wonderland, which might shock you to find it shares many similarities with Five Nights at Freddy’s. In this film, Cage plays a transient who lands a job as a caretaker in an abandoned amusement park. However, the amusing robots within the park spring to life and if our protagonist desires to stay alive, he must battle his way out.
It’s hard to imagine that “Willy’s Wonderland” doesn’t have some connection to the “Five Nights at Freddy’s” video games, but surprisingly, this low-budget film was able to hit the screens before Blumhouse’s movie version came out.
If you’re a lover of the Freddy’s films and are interested in watching Willy’s Wonderland, this could be an excellent opportunity! At the moment, Willy’s Wonderland is accessible for streaming without charge on Tubi. This means you can enjoy the entire movie free of cost; however, there will be a few ad interruptions along the way.
Regrettably, Willy’s Wonderland won’t reap the same box office success as Five Nights at Freddy’s. Despite neither film garnering positive reviews, Five Nights at Freddy’s thrived in cinemas, while Willy’s Wonderland struggled to secure a theatrical release due to the pandemic.
