Game studio GSC Game World has just rolled out a fresh update for the action-adventure game STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl. This new patch is aimed at enhancing the game’s performance following the highly successful, yet slightly buggy debut of STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl.
In November 2024, “STALKER 2: Heart of Chernobyl” was a massive success. This highly anticipated sequel to the original “STALKER” trilogy from the 2000s faced delays for various reasons, including the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Despite the extended wait, “STALKER 2: Hearts of Chornobyl” sold over a million copies within just 48 hours and became profitable in less than a month. Since then, GSC Game World has been regularly issuing updates to address the game’s major problems.
Currently, GSC Game World has rolled out Patch 1.1.4 for STALKER 2. This new version addresses several game-halting bugs, such as:
* Resolving a memory leak in the Rostok location
* Improving performance when firing or aiming in saves with extended playtime
* Preventing crashes and freezes linked to the shader’s compilation
In addition, this update has also tackled issues like saving loss on Xbox and random UI animation-related crashes, enhancing overall game stability. The developers have hinted at another significant update in the near future, though they haven’t yet specified its details.
The recent update for STALKER 2 follows hot on the heels of their last one from December. That earlier update addressed comparable glitches, resolving crashes and preserving the integrity of saved games.
It’s great to notice GSC Game World putting in a lot of effort to enhance the stability of STALKER 2. Upon its launch, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl garnered positive feedback from certain critics, but it averaged 74 on OpenCritic. This score reflected the numerous bugs that plagued the game at its release, with even key features like the A-Life system not functioning as intended when it became accessible.
Regrettably, PS5 gamers will have to wait as GSC World currently has no immediate plans to launch “STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl” on their platform. As stated by the game’s director, Ievgen Grygorovych, the focus is solely on PC and Xbox versions at this time, with no specific timeline for a PlayStation 5 release – a fact that may leave some franchise enthusiasts feeling let down.
