Call of Duty Ranked Play is DOWN – Here’s Why

Discussions about Ranked Mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone have been intense during Season 1, unfortunately not in a good way. The developers plan to make improvements for Season 2, and currently, Ranked Play is temporarily unavailable in both game modes.

Starting at 12:00 AM Pacific Time on January 29th, the Ranked Play matchmaking has been temporarily shut down. This means that your position on the leaderboard is final for this season and you won’t be able to advance any further until Season 2 begins. The playlists buttons have also been disabled, so you’re unable to enter or accidentally join the mode at this time.

Here’s what you need to know for the new season.

When does Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone Ranked Play come back online for Season 2?

Ranked Play will be temporarily unavailable until Season 2 begins, which is scheduled for 9 a.m. Pacific Time (12 p.m. Eastern Time, 5 p.m. UK) on January 28th. This date may shift if developers encounter any problems, but at the moment, we anticipate Ranked Play resuming then. Keep in mind that there will be an update to download since Season 2 brings about substantial changes to the game.

In Season 2, console gamers can choose to exclude themselves from crossplay with PC users in Ranked Play. Although enhancements to the Ricochet anti-cheat system are included in Season 2, it’s not certain whether these changes will have any impact. However, by offering this option now, console players can enjoy matches exclusively against other console gamers.

Here are the three modes you’ll find:

1. Crossplay that includes all platforms (PC, Xbox, PlayStation)
2. Crossplay restricted to only Xbox and PlayStation consoles
3. Console-specific crossplay (PlayStation with PlayStation, Xbox with Xbox)

By choosing options 2 or 3, you may experience longer wait times when finding a match as PC players are excluded from the pool. However, it might be advantageous for a more focused gaming environment.

As a researcher delving into the latest updates, I’m excited to share that Season 2 of Black Ops 6 and Warzone brings forth fresh rewards to claim. However, hold onto your excitement, as some of the past seasonal rewards will persist into this new season. Rest assured, your chances to earn Ranked Play wins rewards remain intact, they won’t be disappearing. The only thing that has changed is the seasonal rewards, which are now a thing of the past.

– If you’re not in the highest tiers (Diamond or above), you won’t experience a significant drop in your ranking when we reset the ranks. So, Bronze and Silver players don’t have to worry about being affected by the reset at all.

– Gold or Platinum players will be moved back to the bottom of their respective rankings. For example, if you were a Platinum III, you would be reset to Platinum I.

– However, if you’re Diamond or higher, you will be moved back to Diamond I, regardless of your previous ranking within that tier. So even if you were Master or Grandmaster, you’ll start Season 2 at Diamond I. This gives everyone a fair chance to climb the ranks again!

In the upcoming seasons of Black Oops 6 and Warzone, there will be modifications to Scorestreak gains and losses. When Season 2 begins, players will initially have three loss protection shields at their disposal, and they’ll receive one daily usage permit for each.

In Season 1, Ranked Play wasn’t particularly enjoyable due to an abundance of cheaters in Warzone. There are high hopes for Season 2, but we’ll have to wait and see what kind of difference these changes make. On the surface, everything seems promising, let’s dive back in!
