As a gamer, I’m excited to share that I just received an email from Nintendo about their upcoming Switch 2 experience events! Apparently, it seems that even if you didn’t get a spot initially, there’s still a possibility that Nintendo will select us lucky ones who missed out on the sign-up. Can’t wait to see what’s in store for us! #NintendoSwitch2Event
In Connor’s situation, they are fortunate enough to participate in the Switch 2 Experience event taking place in London on April 12. This date aligns with the earlier schedule that was disclosed when Nintendo first introduced the Switch 2. Additionally, user Bast_Mate456 has shared a snapshot of their own confirmation email as well.
Nintendo is arranging Switch 2 demonstration events across several cities including Tokyo, New York, Paris, London, Los Angeles, Berlin, Milan, Dallas, and Toronto, starting from April 4 and continuing until June. Additional events will be held in Hong Kong and Taipei, with specifics to be announced later. For further information on the dates, you can refer to our coverage of these events.
Earlier this month, Nintendo showcased the Switch 2 in a video, albeit with limited specifics. However, the video offered an enticing glimpse into the upcoming console, revealing that it will boast a more robust kickstand, an innovative method for connecting and disconnecting JoyCon controllers, a larger overall size, and a larger display screen.
The company announced that the new Switch 2 model will be able to play all original Switch games, whether they are digital or physical versions.
Much of what we know about the potential features of the Switch 2 primarily stems from leaks, whispers, and speculation. One such rumor suggests that when connected to its dock, the new console may draw more power; a leaked image of the Switch 2 dock hints at increased voltage demands, which might be required to accommodate the upgraded hardware powering the device.
Regarding the hardware itself, it’s said that the Switch 2 will likely be powered by a more advanced Nvidia processor. Interestingly, it might also include its own neural network hardware to implement Nintendo’s interpretation of DLSS-like image enhancement techniques. These methods could potentially enable the console to display games at resolutions higher than their original rendering, even reaching 4K quality.
On April 2nd, Nintendo plans to unveil further information about the upcoming Switch 2 during a dedicated broadcast focused on the console itself. This event is expected to offer a closer inspection of the device’s hardware and some of its innovative new features. Additionally, it may preview several games that Nintendo has been developing specifically for the console’s launch.
Additionally, it’s been whispered that various external game creators are secretly developing titles for the potential Switch 2. Some of these developers include Ubisoft, Konami, and studios under Microsoft. The whispers suggest a wide range of games, from “Assassin’s Creed Shadows” to “Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater”, “Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth”, and even “Halo: The Master Chief Collection”.
In the mean time, here are 15 games that are rumoured to be in development for the Switch 2.
