Unleash Intergender Warfare and Draft Online with Friends in WWE 2K25!

2K unveiled its eagerly awaited title, WWE 2K25, this morning, and there’s plenty to explore. Two features that stood out among the rest, however, warrant special attention: online multiplayer for GM Mode and the introduction of intergender wrestling matches. Check out Rhea Ripley and Dominik Mysterio in one of the new images below – in WWE 2K25, you can now create and experience that match-up, as well as many others. Another significant feature is online multiplayer for MyGM, allowing you to draft with friends online and compete with your brands throughout the season. You’ll find the official descriptions for both below.

In an exciting development, intergender wrestling is finally introduced in the WWE 2K series! This means that characters from both the male and female rosters, whether they’re official WWE Superstars or player-created ones, can now square off against each other. This opens up a wide range of possibilities across all game modes for endless matchups.

In the exciting world of MyGM Online Multiplayer for WWE 2K25, brave General Managers have the opportunity to test their skills against managers worldwide! Now featuring online multiplayer for up to four players, you can gather your team and start drafting WWE Superstars and Legends to build your roster each week. Take charge of your brand as you navigate through multiple-week seasons with a broader range of General Managers, spectacular cross-brand Premium Live Events, and an array of additional features!

Initially, MyGM became popular upon its release several years ago, and since then, 2K has consistently introduced new features to enhance the gameplay throughout the season. However, the uncertainty persisted regarding online multiplayer functionality. While local co-op play was incorporated into the mode, it lacked the ability for friends to connect online for a WWE Draft and engage in a season competition, which limited the full realization of the mode’s potential.

Now, things have shifted dramatically, and it’s something I’ll be eagerly anticipating when 2K25 comes out this year – one of the initial features I’ll activate in the game. Regarding intergender matches, fans even have the option to organize their own Mixed Match Challenges, which was a rare instance where WWE acknowledged and incorporated intergender wrestling, to some extent at least.

In these matches, intergender Tag Teams were showcased, however, the traditional format remained men against men and women against women within the ring. WWE has experimented with this concept before, and they’ve hinted at it with Ripley and Mysterio due to their ongoing storyline. Here’s a more conversational rephrasing: In the Standard Edition, you can enjoy Dual-Gen entitlement, which allows play on both Gen 9 consoles (PS5 and Xbox Series X|S) as well as Gen 8 consoles (PS4 and Xbox One) and PC.
