Allison Holker is reflecting on a painful past experience.

In her forthcoming memoir titled “This Far,” the widow of Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who tragically took his own life in December 2022, plans to share intimate insights into her personal experiences.

Beyond revealing her late spouse’s personal battles with substance abuse, Allison additionally disclosed a past encounter she had with an elderly gentleman during her youth.

On the January 27th episode of Jamie Kern Lima’s show, Allison shared that it was her first time truly realizing she had been exploited by someone from the opposite gender. She explained that this person had capitalized on her vulnerability, her zest for life, and her eagerness to learn continuously.

A former contestant from ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ shared her experiences, revealing the hardships she faced as a teenage dancer, when interacting with an individual in the dance world.

She went on to say, “An older man exploited the vulnerability that women often experience, particularly in the dance world. Since we admire our mentors and trust them implicitly, and dancing is both physically demanding and potentially sensual, even at a young age, this trust was abused.

At that point in time, the 36-year-old acknowledged that she lacked the necessary skills to deal with the situation. If given a chance, she would have responded differently.

She shared, “For many years, it left me shattered because I thought it was my blame. ‘How did it end up there?’ I kept wondering, ‘Did I do something wrong?’ This thought was accompanied by a great deal of shame about my identity and an overwhelming sense of embarrassment.

To this day, it remains one of those situations; had I found the courage to voice my feelings then, perhaps I could have rebuilt my confidence and inspired other young girls to avoid similar experiences. However, I was overwhelmed by a deep sense of shame within myself, making it extremely difficult for me to overcome that emotional burden for such a long time.

Over time, I came to understand that my experiences shaped me into a self-reliant and resilient individual. From that moment forward, I swore that no one would be able to strip me of anything else in the future.

Currently, the dancer – who has children Weslie (age 16), Maddox (age 8), and Zaia (age 5) with her deceased spouse – employs her hardships to inspire her oldest child to assert herself confidently when faced with challenging circumstances.

Upon having my daughter,” she remarked, “I understood the importance of preparing her so that if any unfortunate event should occur, she would know to approach someone – be it me or someone else whom she feels secure with – and express, ‘this is not right.’

Eventually, Allison takes great satisfaction in how much she’s progressed and is committed to ensuring her past doesn’t overshadow her. Moreover, she wishes to utilize her experiences to keep others from encountering similar difficulties, yet she lamented that such a measure was regrettably essential initially.

She admitted, ‘I feel a sense of ownership in acknowledging it wasn’t me.’ She had been exploited. It’s unfortunate that such things occur. I can’t fathom why people act this way.
