ITV shares initial glimpses of the second season for the humorous show “G’wed”. Notably, The Vivienne appears in a cameo role following their character’s demise earlier this year.
James Lee Williams gained nationwide recognition, known primarily as his persona, The Vivienne, who triumphed in the debut season of RuPaul’s Drag Race UK.
In various TV programs, they made appearances, such as more recent installments of RuPaul’s Drag Race and the ITV contest show Dancing on Ice from 2023, where they finished third that year.
More recently, The Vivienne made an appearance in the premiere episode of the Liverpool-based coming-of-age sitcom G’wed, a role that will now serve as a tribute following their passing.
In an image during that particular episode, The Vivienne is depicted on a stage adorned with a ‘V’ in elegant script, warmly hugging the character Ted (portrayed by Dominic Murphy), who was about to step up to the microphone.
In this upcoming episode, Ted gets an exciting prospect to host The Vivienne’s drag show at a renowned Liverpool nightclub. This is certainly a significant break for the budding performer.
Moreover, season 2 will delve into the lives of recurring characters such as Reece (Dylan Thomas-Smith), Christopher (Jake Kenny-Byrne), Connor (Max Ainsworth), Mo (Zak Douglas), Aimee (Amber Harrison), and Mia-Louise (Gemma Barraclough).
In another scene from the show, The Vivienne dons a fortune teller outfit and handles an old-fashioned phone. At this point, we can’t quite discern the specific situation or backstory associated with it.
Following the announcement of The Vivienne’s tragic death at just 32 years old, executive producer Mario Stylianides shared his feelings, stating that the entire cast and crew were deeply saddened by her demise. As a result, the first episode will be devoted in memory of her.
We were thrilled beyond measure when we discovered that The Vivienne, a groundbreaking figure, appreciated our work at G’wed. Our excitement doubled when they consented to make an appearance in the debut episode of the fresh series.
“They will always be in our hearts and forever part of the G’wed family.”
