Currently, there’s been a lot of buzz surrounding the potential release of the Nintendo Switch 2. But let me clarify that the original Nintendo Switch is still packing a punch with some major games. Through the years, we’ve witnessed popular titles like “Luigi’s Mansion 2-HD”, “Donkey Kong Country Returns HD”, and “Metroid Prime Remastered” grace its shelves. Nintendo has shown a knack for reviving their older system games, keeping their franchises relevant within the gaming world. This summer, two highly anticipated titles from a well-known farm simulation role-playing series will make their first appearance on the Nintendo Switch, marking their long-awaited debut.
Natsume Inc., publishers of Harvest Moon, have revealed a fantastic new bundle for Nintendo Switch fans! This summer, you’ll get to enjoy not one but two beloved Nintendo 3DS games – Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley and Harvest Moon: Skytree Village – all in one package. Plus, it comes with every piece of DLC released so far, making your nostalgia trip even sweeter! This is the first time the Harvest Moon series has returned since 2023’s Harvest Moon: The Winds of Anthos. Meanwhile, some players are still tilling their fields in the current Harvest Moon games, while others find themselves farming in the world of Stardew Valley, a game that drew inspiration directly from this cherished series.
Two Harvest Moon 3DS Titles Make Their Way to Nintendo Switch This Summer
2014 saw the debut of my favorite game, “Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley,” developed by Tabot, Inc., right here in North America. In this installment, I got to tailor my lifestyle to my preferences, from everyday chores like tending crops and nurturing animals, to grander endeavors like reshaping the land, unleashing the power of the seven Harvest Sprites, or starting a family. The game offers a unique open-ended experience, allowing me to restore the valley’s seasons with the help of villagers, the Harvest Goddess, and even the King of the Underworld!
In 2016, Harvest Moon: Skytree Village was unveiled for Nintendo 3DS. This version shares a similar structure with Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley. You’ll find yourself in the Oasis of the Harvest Goddess, a once vibrant land that has turned barren and lifeless. As the player, it falls upon you to rejuvenate the seven Skytrees to restore the former prosperity of this environment. The game introduces more varieties of crops and flowers, along with Downloadable Content (DLC) offering cosmetic items and two extra characters for your gaming experience.
The two sandbox games earned mixed reviews from both critics and players, with several commenting that they didn’t quite meet the high standards set by earlier versions. However, these games continue to be popular within the farming simulation genre, attracting fans who are eager to explore the established Harvest Moon series or those yearning for the nostalgia of classic console games from a past era.
In the summer of 2025, Harvest Moon: The Lost Valley or Harvest Moon: Skytree Village will be released for Nintendo Switch.
