But, oh boy, this newfound status has only ignited a fresh torrent of challenges for our rapidly growing hunter. The initial episodes of Season 2 have been nothing short of breathtaking as Jinwoo’s power surge seems almost exponential! Even at the end of Season 1, he towered over many lower-ranked Hunters, but the opening arcs of this new season have only provided him with more chances to grow without much resistance or hardship. And it appears that this trend is here to stay!
In the first season of Solo Leveling, Jinwoo found himself trying to conceal his escalating power since it was unique in that only he could enhance his strength through combat. So far, he had successfully sidestepped potential problems related to this. However, during his efforts to advance to a higher rank, Jinwoo’s power was reevaluated, resulting in him being on track for an S-Rank promotion. Nevertheless, the promotion hasn’t been officially confirmed yet, as per those close to him, at the end of the most recent episode.
Solo Leveling Finally Ranks Up Jinwoo
In Episode 16 of “Solo Leveling – Rising from Shadows”, Jinwoo undergoes a power reassessment, leading to an astonishing discovery – his power is indeterminable in its entirety. This extraordinary ability is seldom seen except among the other S-Rank Hunters, causing quite a fuss and stirring up trouble for Jinwoo as his new rank brings more complications than he anticipated.
As soon as Jinwoo attained this new rank, several guilds and organizations started approaching him to join their factions. Given his impressive strength, there’s a delicate equilibrium among all these guilds, making the competition fiercer than ever to win over Jinwoo to their side. This is what Go Gunhee, the chairman of the Hunter’s Association, discusses in detail now that Jinwoo’s power has been acknowledged.
Jinwoo Being A S-Rank Only Brings More Trouble
The procedure for earning an S-Rank designation is somewhat unusual, according to Gunhee. It appears that once Jinwoo’s power was deemed extraordinary, he was automatically labeled as an S-Rank. This signifies his significant role in maintaining the equilibrium of the Hunter world. However, it’s not yet final, as there’s a brief interval following his new rank, during which members of the Hunters Association can reach out to him to influence his actions towards their organization.
It appears that the Association isn’t composed of numerous powerful Hunters themselves; instead, they hire these Hunters through Guilds for the purpose of raiding Gates and accumulating vast wealth. However, Jinwoo chooses not to join the Association as he’s currently uninterested. Instead, he desires to enhance his strength in order to rescue his mother at present. As more challenges involving S-Rank level problems arise in future episodes, other matters will have to wait. But with each new Gate and task he undertakes, Jinwoo can expect an increase in attention from curious onlookers.
