Mikayla Nogueira is clearing up the rumors.
The TikTok user who married Cody Hawken in 2023 addressed rumors following fan observations of her missing engagement ring in a recent video on the platform, assuring everyone that her marriage is stable and there’s no cause for concern.
Mikayla shared in her January 28th video, “I’m prepared to explain the reason behind not wearing my wedding ring anymore, but I must clarify that there isn’t any juicy gossip or news to share.
As someone who’s been deeply invested, I expressed, “After shedding an impressive 60 pounds, this piece of jewelry has become colossal on me! It’s time for a resize or even a new ring altogether because it’s simply too vast. It no longer fits.
As a devoted admirer, I’ve always appreciated the honesty of this beauty influencer, who’s shared her personal journey, including past weight fluctuations and battles with an eating disorder. Recently, she subtly showcased a change in her physical appearance by casually highlighting how her ring seems a bit too loose on her finger now.
Mikayla said, “I have a ‘C’ tattooed on my finger, and it’s something I need to get removed because it’s not ideal. However, if I don’t wear it, it might fall off. The same goes for my wedding band – they are the same size, but my fingers are much slimmer now compared to when I was heavier.
In another video, the 26-year-old mentioned that she receives daily inquiries about her wedding ring approximately 10,000 times, and affirmed that she is “definitely still wedded”.
Mikayla provides an update on her marital status, more than a year following fan observations of her noticeable weight reduction. This transformation, she clarified, stemmed from alterations in her habits related to compulsive eating, sparking discussions about the possibility that she had started using Ozempic for weight management.
In her TikTok post in December 2023, she shared that her weight loss of approximately 30 lbs. was a result of her recovery from binge eating disorder. She added that while recovering, sometimes weight loss can occur when one stops binging. However, after putting in months of hard work to overcome this disorder which had come close to taking her life several times, hearing comments like “Laugh my ass off, she’s on Ozempic,” was disheartening.
Mikayla stated, “It seems to me that it lessens the efforts of those who work incredibly hard for their health. Personally, I won’t use Ozempic in my own recovery process as I believe it would be dishonest to myself.
She further elaborated that she thinks taking a weight loss medication could potentially hinder her progress in overcoming her eating disorder.
She expressed that such an action wouldn’t contribute positively to her healing process. Consequently, she has decided against it. To foster a healthy bond with food, physical activities, and self-image, which she finds challenging, Ozempic is not a suitable option for her.
She confirmed, “Indeed, I’ve managed to shed some pounds. It’s all been done naturally and sensibly, by making wiser food decisions and improving my lifestyle overall. I’m incredibly proud of this accomplishment because it’s the first time I’ve ever done it healthily, which is a significant milestone for me.
