In a thrilling turn of events, Doctor Who’s Season 14 marked the anticipated comeback of renowned writer Steven Moffat, who not only resumed his role as showrunner but also penned the captivating Christmas special titled Joy to the World. Prior to the announcement of his recent return, Moffat had been rather cryptic during our previous conversation, subtly mentioning titles of forthcoming episodes within our casual discussion.
Inquired whether there might be further hints to find in this conversation, he playfully remarked: “Absolutely not a shred of suspicion there. I promise you, I’ve got nothing to do with any upcoming episodes… it won’t be Claws of Fear or Planet of Doom!
Though I haven’t heard about any immediate intentions for rejoining the series, Steven Moffat once shared with TV Choice magazine that he’s already gone through the script for the Season 15 finale.
Inquired about the reason behind it, he jokingly commented: “It’s because Russell [T Davies, showrunner] is constantly craving my input. Constantly. It’s clingy! It’s pitiful! He keeps asking, ‘Steven, what did I get wrong?’ To which I respond, ‘Relax and send me the script, dear.’
At the moment, Moffat is engaged in numerous upcoming projects. To elaborate, he’s presently penning a screenplay and also working on a six-episode serial. Notably, the six-episode series has already been given the go-ahead, so it will materialize at some point in time.
For Season 15 of Doctor Who, it was just announced that four new authors will be contributing episodes. These include Pete McTighe, Juno Dawson, Inua Ellams, and Sharma Angel-Walfall.
Announcing excitingly, showrunner Davies hinted: “Prepare for excitement with Pete, surprises with Juno, wonderment with Inua, and fear with Sharma!
