Destiny 2 has changed considerably since it released in 2017.
Back in 2019, this game I’ve been diving into went free-to-play, and boy, have they been dropping some amazing expansions ever since! There was The Witch Queen, followed by Lightfall, and just last year we got hit with The Final Shape.
Now, nearly eight years since its debut, a fresh partnership may potentially broaden the scope of Destiny’s dedicated followers.
Collaboration between Bungie’s developers and Lucasfilm Games means exciting Star Wars-themed content will be arriving in Destiny 2 shortly.
Enthusiasts of both realms are likely thrilled, yet the specifics of this collaboration remain unclear. Can you provide more details about what to expect, and when will it be released?
We’ll share all the sci-fi-drenched info down below.
When is the Destiny 2 Star Wars collab?
Destiny 2 Star Wars collab will release on 4th February, so we’re less than a week away!
The fourth installment will become available simultaneously with Heresy (the game’s third episode and the conclusion of Light and Darkness series). Therefore, you can expect an abundance of new content on it.
What’s included in the Destiny 2 Star Wars collab?
The collab was announced via live stream last night, and you can rewatch the whole thing below:
In this new partnership, we’ll be unveiling decorative pieces, armor, add-ons, victory poses, and emoticons, all reminiscent of the Star Wars galaxy.
What else is coming in Destiny 2’s Heresy update?
Perhaps the biggest news is that the Dreadnaught has returned.
In nearly a decade, the Dreadnaught has stirred back to life, prompting the Vanguard and Guardians throughout the system to pay attention. (Nikko Stevens, Destiny 2 narrative architect)
At last, we can discover the fate of the Dreadnaught following Oryx’s demise, when its corridors began to decay due to lack of guidance from a Navigator.
In addition, a fresh activity titled “The Nether” is introduced, where players are tasked with disarming the armaments aboard the Dreadnought.
According to Stevens, the wave of corruption acts as a bitter undercurrent resisting the efforts of Guardians trying to enter the Dreadnaught. This is where The Nether becomes relevant.
