In recent times, the Indiana Jones intellectual property has faced some challenges, particularly in the movie industry where its more recent productions haven’t been successful. However, in the gaming sector, Indiana Jones appears to be making significant progress. MachineGames, Bethesda, and Xbox recently launched Indiana Jones and the Great Circle in December, and this action-adventure game seems to be off to a strong start.
According to Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella, during a recent quarterly financial update, he mentioned that not only has Indiana Jones and the Great Circle received widespread praise, but it has also been enjoyed by more than 4 million players so far.
He mentioned that Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has received overwhelmingly positive feedback from many viewers, with over 4 million people having watched it so far,” he stated.
During its initial release week, The Great Circle was the second highest-selling book in the U.S., which means its success wasn’t unexpected. It’s been hinted by Lucasfilm Games that there might be sequels, and rumors suggest that these sequels could very well be under development.
In our assessment of the game, we gave it a 9 out of 10, noting that “Indiana Jones and the Great Circle” perfectly encapsulates the essence of its source material. It offers an authentic, thrilling Indiana Jones experience that rivals the original trilogy, boasting robust level design, engaging exploration, thoughtfully designed puzzles, and fun stealth and combat mechanics. All these elements come together to create a gameplay experience that could very well be MachineGames’ finest work yet. To read the complete review, click here.
