Beyond the detailed patch notes and a plethora of exciting new features, they’ve also incorporated an innovative system known as archiving. This feature allows players to save both their ships and multi-tools for future use. Here’s a guide on how to leverage this fresh addition!
How to Archive Ships and / or Multi-Tools | Worlds Part II
Instead of creating multi-tools, consider constructing a versatile Storage Organizer, often referred to as a Tool Rack. Just like its name suggests, this storage solution accommodates up to 18 different items. To use it, simply engage with the organizer and choose the tools you wish to store within it for easy access whenever needed.
In essence, whatever multi-tool you put on the rack, it will retain all its embedded technology. The storage unit itself doesn’t appear differently based on its contents, but from a practical standpoint, it’s a valuable feature that allows for the collection of additional tools or weapons!
Regarding the starship archiving feature, simply navigate to your freighter’s ship management station. Once there, look for the “Manage Starship Archive” option. The interface for this is similar to the weapon rack, so you should find it quite familiar and easy to use.
Just a heads-up! The vessels you store are similar to multi-tools in that they retain any tech installed within them. However, be aware that any unsecured cargo will be gone for good. So, always ensure your ships are empty of valuable items before archiving them to avoid any unwanted losses!
With this new mechanic, you’ll be able to amass an even greater number of vessels than previously, reaching as many as 18 ships in total. Adding these to your current active fleet will bring your total ship capacity up to a impressive 30 ships.
In essence, that covers all the essentials regarding the latest addition to this feature! This transformation has brought tremendous joy to collectors since it allows them to amass an even greater number of multi-tools and ships. I can only hope they consider enabling archiving for freighters as well…
